Need help with malpositioned pigeon chick!!

The hole seems bigger in the picture, im worried ive opened it too much :/ hes moving about alot but not making any progress getting through
I think it looks good. You can gently peel back more shell. If you see blood at all or vessles, stop and put it back in the bator for a bit and do more later.

His little tongue is sticking out! Will he dry out with it being open? I have humidity at about 65%

Okay the water pot in incubator is full i will add a wet sponge to up it a bit! Think ill go buy some coconut oil aswell just incase :) there is some brownish bits on the membrane but its dried so nothing is bleeding! Further toward his head i could see more pinky blood so was worried about goig any further! Also is it normal for them to keep sticking their tongue in and out? Thanks again

I think you're doing great. Id leave it till the blood is gone. Im not sure about his tounge sticking out, i know with chicks, they will make a chewing motion while still absorbing the yolk. Maybe thats whats going on here..
@WVduckchick do you know anything about hatching pigeons? Can you help out?:fl

I don’t know anything about hatching pigeons! :D (although i have considered buying some eggs)

So I’m guessing you are doing the right thing. I would proceed on the set course, slowly, cautious of any bleeders, trying to work toward removing the end of the shell where the head is. Then let him kick his butt out on his own.

Good luck! I’ll be anxiously awaiting the hatchling.
