Need help with malpositioned pigeon chick!!

Haha i think ill be hooked now too!! Cant get a good picture yet hes moved his foot back in and its under his head! Peeled a little bit more but noticed a few blood vessels when i put the coconut oil on it so have put him back in incubator and will keep an eye on him :)

That's fantastic! He's getting himself in a better position.. sounds like a good plan. Keep us posted! :pop
 
Hatching pigeons in an incubator is a rare event. An assist I've never heard of! Tiny litlle egg-I'll leave it in your good hands and @Fields Mountain Farm . :bow Thank you both.:thumbsup

I dont know anything about pigeons either... im just figuring one type of bird egg hatching is fairly the same as any other ... within reason of course... so please stick around and if you find you have any ideas we haven't thought of speak up! :love:fl

Now its more important to have a hatching specialist than a pigeon specialist. Assisting pigeon eggs is just so rare you have to apply knowledge from other birds.
 
The hatch is the easier part imo. More challenging is raising the baby without benefit of crop milk from the parents. What type of formula do you plan to use @LauraMunro ? Have you done baby pigeons before? There are some good vids on youtube. I have only hand fed older babies ~10days+. By that time its easy.

If you google 'assist malpositioned pigeon hatch' this thread is the first result and the only one specific to pigeons. The others are general avian assists.
