Perhaps another fencing for a run would be better. Maybe an electrical net fencing that you could install yourself and easily take down or move.
How are you managing your coop? You may want to look into a different method to make things easier on you. I use the deep litter method in my coop. I have to do occasional maintenance (adding more bedding or turning certain wet spots) but I only have to completely clean it out once a year. If your coop is on the ground, you may want to look into it.
It makes me sad when people have to give up their pets because their partners don't want to 'deal the hassle.' Times like that I'm glad I don't have to answer to anyone else. Though being a single women can make certain chores harder. I sure hope you can find a compromise.
