YEA MAMA!!!
Nice job on the costumes and that gorgeous pumkin! I love talented people.

I'm in a funk these days. First Makayla is elegible for GATE, but her school doesn't offer it. Was going to switch schools. Then, she's been going through Hell with some of the kids at school and in the neighborhood. 14 year old boys are harrassing her and calling her aweful names. First week of school there was a boy that was constantly bullying her during recesss. Her teacher has gone through lots of training and working with an anti bullying program. She loves Makayla. That kid may drive me nuts at home, but at school, she is an excellent student and her 2 teachers so far have said that she is a joy to have as a student. Her kindergarten teacher absolutely loved her. Anyway, this week it's gotten to the point that she won't even go outside to play and the parents of these mini gang bangers do nothing about their kids. I'm sitting here texting one of my daughters who moved back to Union City from Brentwood, so that her daughter could go to the same high school most of my kids went to. The area we lived in was great and I do miss the area, but I really needed more space. Friday after Halloween, we're going to Union City and enroll Makayla in school there. I want her in a better lace until I have something somewhere else, but Bill had my daughter bring her to us when she was 10 months old. My daughter basically lives here, but she's out of state a lot and it's always been mostly me and Bill raising Kayla. I'm starting to go through withdrawls already. I know she'll be in the best place and that we'll miss eachother. I'll have her a lot of weekends and all the holidays, but..............ok, crying time hit.
Oooh! What a brave decision you made for her! That is going to be so hard on both of you but good to know she is in a much better situation as far as bullies and GATE is concerned! *Huge Hugs* to you both!!!!!

I'll have to try again later.

Geeze Kim, I am so sorry. Have you thought...like...REALLY thought about going with her? So sad, im so so sorry :(

I feel crummy whining anymore but if not here then where??

WILL THIS EVER END?!?!

I went to check on Gunda because i noticed that she hasnt really been eating and her crop was completely empty! she feels like she is losing weight and she wont touch her feed. I have no clue what her problem is. The empty crop feels normal, she doesnt seem to be egg bound, she doesnt look ill at all. I havent the slightest clue what could be wrong! im stumped! She has been spending a lot of time in the coop. How do i get her to eat something?

AND THEN holy moly this is the worst...I found Mama hiding in a corner...unusual to say the least as she is very outgoing... picked her up (i had just checked on her ten minutes earlier and she was fine) and saw that SOMEONE HAD PECKED OUT HER EYE!!

I am at my wits end right now with these poor birds! Now keep in mind, none of these guys are overly aggressive, even to newbies. Im thinking that since she was in the coop she was eating and someone meant to peck her head and accidentally got her right in the eye ball. There is no pecking or scrapes anywhere else. I am at a loss. This really is a new one for me. I am hoping it will heal and she will just be one-eyed. But I am also worried because I cannot give her antibiotics . AUGH!! poor Mama!!!

you have had enough drama to last quite awhile.

Thank you! Most of it is acrylic on canvas. I mostly do portraits. But I hadn't done any artwork since last December because I was too busy with our little urban farm, so it was nice to spend a few days working on something.
Missy that is absolutely gorgeous pumpkin!!! I just love scenes like that you could sell your art easily! very appealing!
Poultry Swap? What and where is that?
Hi, the poultry swaps are put on by the Northern Nevada Poultry Fanciers Assoc as a fundraiser for our upcoming show, the cost to rent the livestock event center is about $2100 not including fire inspection, insurance and business license etc. So anyone can bring birds to sellon their own, we just ask for a donation for arranging/advertising the swap/we take unwanted roos for a $5 donation per bird. Feed World is downtown a block west of D Bar M off of 4th st. Some day our club hopes to become a 501c3 but right now we make just enough to pay for the sow each year. We also hold a raffle at the show and we would be delighted for any donations for our raffle. There should be a breeders raffle at the show as well. Hope this info helps!! Feed World is advertising the swap on 92.1!

Oh Dear MAMA and Aubrey! So sorry! Well I have had one experience with a missing eyeball..... my light Brahma cockerel got into a horrendous fight with another rooster and when I found him he has no eye!!!! I looked and looked inside his eye socket and there was swelling but no eyeball at all! I don't think I did anything for him either, just let nature take it course and about a week later he was all healed up and low and behold his EYE was there after all!! It was smaller and kinda out of place but there was an EYE!!! Not sure if Mama will be so lucky but I have seen lots of birds survive with one eye just keep it clean and if you can put some triple antibiotic to any part that looks inflamed, not necessarily into the eye but around it. Good Luck and sorry for this turn of events Aubrey........GOSH!!!!

I am in Gifted and talented(GATE) and I think it is totally worth it

I love the pumpkin missy
