Nevadans?

I will be thinking about rehoming a few hens some time this month if anyone in the Reno area will be interested or know interested parties. So far on the list 1 each of LF blue cochin, dark brahma, norwegian jaerhon (small, friendly and lays medium to large white egg; I have 2 others and want to keep 2). Possibly a lavender ameraucana and black/lavender split ameraucana. I just need to have a smaller flock due to grumpy neighbor. all of these are 1 year old with the first three from ideal and the last two from n. cal breeders. the lav is either from Candy (chickee) or her friend Kirsti and the black/lav is from Kirsti. I probably need to reduce by a few more but that's all that I can muster for my list right now. I love my girls! These ones are not particularly loud birds either. I'm just reducing numbers to reduce overall noise.
that's great but I'm also thinking, who would complain about 2 rabbits? I thought they were pretty quiet or how much could 2 rabbits poop? I wouldn't think a neighbor would even notice a rabbit. how exciting about the chicks coming. I loved having chicks. My kids think we should take home the chicks they are hatching at school but I said, no chicks this year and I'm sticking to it.

I'm thinking those are pretty crabby neighbors. My neighbors haven't said a thing about the rabbits, and they're right up against the fence between our yards. They don't smell unless you let the poop stay all wet and gross under the cage, and that involves a lot of neglect.

Elizabeth, if you can't find homes, I can mention it on the Ames Family Farm page. So far, it's been successful in rehoming animals.

As far as I know, the neighbors were complaining after kits were born, when there were 10+ rabbits. If the couple couldn't breed them for meat, they didn't want to keep paying to feed the breeding pair.

Still... as far as I know, rabbits are one of the least "offensive" animals in existence!

Okay, upon further inspection, maybe not 15 lbs. But they're certainly larger than I was expecting! Chronos is definitely over the 10-lb mark - he's heavier than the cat!

I was going to offer to cross-breed them with my rabbits, then I remembered where you live. Lol. Are you going to keep the hides and tan them?

Well, thanks anyway!

DH wants to make a fur cloak for the Renaissance festival out of the pelts. Problem is, it's usually still in the 80s during the festival in October!

You did not recive Californian rabbits you received white new zealands which are better for meat.

good to know, thanks!

Seth knows his stuff, too. I've had several occasions when Seth told me one thing about rabbits, and an adult breeder told me another... and Seth was the one who was right.

I met Tyler today! It was awesome finally seeing him in person.
While I was at the Grand Sierra, I also walked past a Furry convention, a high school prom, a carnival, and accidentally got on the escalator behind a guy wearing a kilt.

Then I went to see Sheryl, who could really use some prayers and/or good thoughts right now.

I read this and I am just aghast at how outrageous this is

FC that was one wild story and I have read a lot of horror stories along those lines here on BYC! I do not understand some people!

Michigan! We moved there when I was 12 due to my stepdad's job. Hated it! I swear, that place sucks and so do their ordinances!
This is exactly why I moved out to the desert and live on 10 acres at the far end of Dayton!
