You mean one out in Spring Creek died? Someone in Elko lost their pig a few days ago.

Also they have had one die last week with brown lesions behind its ears, died the day after some injections for lice. A vet is going to do a necropsey on it monday in my Vet Med class, let you know what caused it.

Mine were 345 and 350 lbs. when I took them for butchering. I got them as weanlings about 20-25 lbs. and it took a little less than 6 months to get them to that weight. I took them to a place in Fallon called Mori Meats - run by Julia Mori she is the best! Cost of the weanlings was $75 ea., cost for butchering was $1/lb. dressed or $487.50 for my 487.5 lbs. of pork you see in the freezer. I fed them Purina feed - I spent about $300 or so on feed for a total cost of about $2/lb. finished.

Nope i haven't butchered them yet, i just got them 2 weeks ago. one is going to the FFA Sale (the one who is the best weight), the other will go in my freezer. we aren't sure if we are doing it ourself or taking it somewhere yet. For the FFA Sale they say to have them around 200-230 lbs. The sale is the first week in August
