I think that statement could describe a lot of us! I know if I had a healthy back I'd have 5 times as many birds as I have now. At least.
Top of my list (besides more peafowl) would be the white emus. I'd love to have a few of those! <3

I'm curious, what would you all have if money, space and help were not an issue?

2 personal assistants to clean and feed my rabbits and chicken
a giant self cleaning rabbit shed
a giant chicken breeding house,a giant egg coop, and a giant coop for everything else
and a entire room for cavies

LOL! I meant the breeds and variety of animals specifically but I admire anyone that can dream big.

I would have heritage turkeys, pheasant, quail, ducks, geese, goats, a cow and a mule or two. For starters!

First I'd need to get this place back to some kind of order, but after everything works and gets organized. I'd love several Fjord horses. For plowing and riding. I miss driving 4-6 horse hitch but I'd be happy with a nice pair for wagon and sleigh rides. I've decided I like the mediteranian breeds best. So I'd like some more leghorns, maybe brown this time, and some penedesenca. A Jersey cow or two or maybe a milking short horn. I had planned to turn one pasture into an heirloom garden this year, but I guess it'll have to wait since I'm due in the spring. Eventually I'd like to be as self sustaining as possible, but the pregnancy and its side effects have slowed me down quite a bit this year. Not to mention Ty was about to enlist when we found out I'm pregnant again. So we'll have to see where that goes...

Cool! Heritage turkeys and Angora goats would also be on my must have list! Ever since Lacey told the story about her grandfather, who raised them, I have been fascinated by them. They looked so gorgeous in the pictures she showed!

Well I wish you the best! If we lived closer to each other we could probably share produce. But you're right, trying to get a garden in while 9 months pregnant or with a newborn would be pretty nigh impossible.

HI! How fantastic finding fellow chicken farmers in Nevada. I live in southwest Reno - Urban Farmer.

At this time we have 6 chickens:

Bard Rock "Brosia"
Buff Orphington "Popcorn" This group is 6 months old
Aurucana "Egger"

Silver Wyndotte "Nevada"
Swiss Autralop "Charlotte" This group is 3 1/2 months
Rhode Island Red "Misty"

Two homemade coops - Will send pics, hopefully they can be integrated soon.

My little Misty is not feeling too well today - Brosia has a runny poop issue, I need a good chicken doctor. Who do you Northerners recommend? I am so attached to my girls can't imagine anything happening to them. Great layers, but have slowed in the past month with the cold snap. Don't blame them OY!

Ok - headed back outside into the coop to sit with my younger ones, make sure Misty is comfy. Looking forward to getting to know my fellow farmers and Nevadans (and close Californians)

Welcome Julia! I used to take my pets to All Creatures when I lived in town. She deals in all farm animals so hopefully she can help you out. All Creatures is in South Reno.
