Hi everyone - been MIA - no excuse, just lazy....
Off for 4 days - yahoo - but dh is working his 12 hr shifts Fri thru Mon - so he is missing out on Labor Day Weekend - he is also an RN (in the ER no less).
Olivia got another soccer goal last night - her team won 10-0- it was a shut out!
Taylor started school this week - taking 9th grade algebra (counts towards high school credit - she is in 8th grade). I think she will have a great year.
LaceyNoelle: What makes me, as a parent, happy - is also to see my girls happy and want to spend time with us parents. I love it when my daughters just spontaneously give me a hug & say they appreciate all that I do for them. I like it when they ask me how my day went - and if I had a good day. I love it when they leave me "love notes" - just a quick note to say hi, i love you... I also appreciate when they don't bug me for something everytime we go grocery shopping. I took my granddaughter (I also have an almost 28 yr old daughter who lives in Sacramento) shopping for school clothes at Kohl's and my 11 & 13 yr old did not ask for anything! I made sure I noticed that and thanked them for it. However, I also model this behavior - I wish them a great day before they go to school - or if I am not home (I have to be at work at 5 or 530 in the morning) I leave them a note. I tell them frequently that I love them & appreciate how good they are. I thank them when they do their chores promptly. I ask them to help me cook dinner - TV is off & we just talk as we make our dinner. I also appologize when I make a mistake or am unfair to them (and yes as a parent we do make mistakes!) I feel as if I am a pretty good parent.
My gals are doing well - faces are getting more red - Sassy's comb is getting more plump - hopefully eggs will be in the near future!
My project for this weekend is to put together my composting bin!
And maybe take my puggies to Pug Sunday - if it is cool enough.
Welcome to all the new folks! I love to see all the photos of the chickens - really wish I could get a roo they are soooo handsome.
Sunny: I thought of a name for your white hen but you already named it. I like the name Beignet (pronouced: Ben yay) it is a french donut/pastry that is served in New Orleans at the Cafe du Monde - it is heaped up with powdered sugar.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend
