I've got chicks hatching! Lizzie, my BCM X EE has hatched out all 7 of hers (from ke_ben), awesome job, and Roulette, my gamebird chickie has hatched out 3 of the 6 she started with. Unfortunately she cannibalized one chick. I have to assume that that chick had something wrong, but YUCK! No pics until at least tomorrow...hoping the other 3 eggs will hatch first.

Today I started thinking about what I could build inside the coop, to allow my big chickens and little chickens to see each other, but so the little ones don't get bullied. I didn't do this last year, I just threw them in the coop, and I regret it severely

Anyway, I think I have a good idea to divide part of it so just the pullets can wander around, and get to know the big ones.

I also noticed that as of this Friday, it will have been exactly a year since my favorite chicken, Chloe, passed away
