Nevadans?

Aubrey, that ring is amazing! What a well thought out, personalized design. A work of art to wear everyday! Mark has obviously been planning this for a long time!

Your trip sounds incredible! What a fun and educational itinerary!

How's your mom doing?

Ron, I was born and spent my first 9 years in Whittier. I return a couple of times a year to visit my cousins and my 100 year old granny. She passed away in March. I hope we still get together without the excuse of seeing my granny.

The traffic down there is horrible although I still think the Bay Area has worse traffic! Nothing worse then sitting in traffic!
OMG!!! Now I wanna ask how old you are cause I lived in Yorba Linda until I was 9 years old! We coulda been neighbors! Well close anyway. Do you remember the fire that came over those hills in, oh 1966 I believe it was? Whittier is at the bottom of the same hills. No you're probably too young to remember that. When I lived there it was still full of orange orchards and oil pumps.

Of course we moved a lot so only the last 2&1/2 years were in Yorba Linda.

And yes, Bay Area traffic is the worst! It took me 2 and a half hours to make a 30 min drive home from work everyday. Just dawned on me that was probably why I was a workaholic! Who wants to leave work on time when that is what you have to face?!!

Must be my cue to go take care of the animals.

There's no huge drama going on over here right now, and my to-do list is so long. I figured, if I'm here trying to make up reasons to talk to people, then the time might be better spent actually doing work!

Sunny, are we still on for helping you move on Saturday?

Yep! We are all geared up and ready to move!

Sweet! Can you PM me instructions on how to get there?

The chicks went outside today. I wanted to put them in the mini-coop, but I have too many clients to see how they do with the larger ameraucana pullets. I'm kind of worried about the silkie.

Clockwise from top: my black minorca, with the RIR right below her. The exchequer leghorn in the top right corner. Then the brahma pullet. The cream brabanter is by the waterer, staring at us. Then the blue silkie, then the speckled sussex. And the top left corner is the turken. I'm so happy with the color of her feathers! The blue cochin is kind of a ball of fluff behind the RIR.

Another shot, with a lot of chicken butts. And Tikka the wyandotte is there, trying to fulfill her purpose of picking on anyone smaller than her.

I don't know about Bay Area traffic being worse - I've lived both places and I think it depends on which "free"way you're talking about. For instance, my last job down there was in Irvine and I lived in Downey - which meant a 30 mile trip down the Santa Ana freeway (I-5) each way. The section of that freeway going through Downey (and for quite a distance North and South of there) had heavy traffic even at 2:00 AM! There was talk back then of making it a double-decker with traffic flowing one way on one level and the other way on the other level. But then the Nimitz collapsed in Oakland in '89 and afterwards that idea died.

I'm 51. I sort of remember something about a fire but maybe more from others talking about it, I was 5. But there was still lots of orange trees when I was there. I remember all the oil pumps on the way to the beach. They reminded me of dinosaurs!

How awesome Aubrey! And I love the ring - that's really unique and clever!

Where in LA are you from? I only ask 'cause that's where I hail from, too. Dear old Downey is where I grew up. I left there in 1987 and have only been back a few times since.

I was born in Pasadena, then lived in highland park/eagle rock, then lived in Glendale until I moved here. I dont hate it! In fact, I really do love my hometown.
