Okay, so I was thinking about how I was getting my chicks for next spring from My Pet Chicken and it occured to me that the only silkies they have are bantams, and all my hens are standard sized so they might pick on her. I think what I am going to do is get the other chicks I wanted, and then when I get those chicks, I will just get a silkie chick and put the silkie with the rest of them. So, to get to my point, does anyone breed or know a breeder who would happen to breed splash silkies in the Reno area?
It is to soon to tell what sex they are for sure, but I am going to guess I have 4 girls and 4 boys. If that is the case then I will be keeping all of the girls. I am considering buying another line of bantam buff Brahmas so maybe I will have extra pullets from the next hatch.Happy bday sunny!!!!![]()

I have to come pick up my new one in Reno - that's what I meant by it being "delivered", to Sears, not me! - so I can drop the other one off to you on the way. We're probably talking Sat. July 7th.

I do have chickens. I have five right now. I have two black stars, an ameracauna, and two orpingtons. I just got rid of three hens that were given to us because they we picking on them, so the others weren't laying eggs. The first chicks I got were two years ago. I have had many chickens between then and now. Do I sound inexperienced?tolipgirl and
NV thread! Hmm, I had the impression from your other posts that you didn't have any chickens yet. So what do you have already?![]()
