We got the coop stained/sealed this weekend, and I have two pens that are ready for adding the fine details.

I'm getting excited... we have crowing wars going on in the garage!!!

More pictures soon...

Hi Mrs. Bird Brain,

Just found these pics of your coop. I must say I absolutely LOVE that siding!!! Definitly fits the area. The coop design seems real nice too, altho I'm still learning about those and how they should be set up. All in all it looks great. Make sure to show final pics when you are done. Nail guns are fun huh, I love using hubby's!!!

Yeah, nail guns are fun. Ours is really heavy, though, so my arm is dead by the end of the day. We're past the nail gun, now, and using the cordless drills to attach the plywood and trim. Same end result - arms are dead.

ONE PEN IS OCCUPIED!

I've got the Silkies in one pen, and they are loving it so far. It does not have nest boxes yet, and the door to the run-to-be has not been cut out yet. These are early March babies, so they're not quite old enough to be outside 100% of the time yet. So, here's what we have so far...

First the 2" foamboard insulation...

Then the plywood...

4' tall dividers (plywood) and the wired door are added to each pen.

Silkie corner...

I'm finishing the insulation and plywood, then hopefully this weekend hubby will help me drywall the brooder/quail room and seal it in. Still a lot of work to go, but having the Silkies out of the garage will help me figure out who's still crowing. I recognize the Millie's crowing, but there's someone else in there now...

I'm at probably $2500, and I'm only halfway done... maybe a cocaine addiction would be less expensive than my chicken addiction...

Sorry... I don't normally joke about stuff like that...

The floors are vinyl - scoop up the shavings, hit it with a mop, you're good to go.

I think we might have a couple of tenants lined up if we decide not to do the chickens... LOL!

Ahh, they're sooo cute, and from the looks of the pen spoiled...

Good clean up set up, with the vinyl flooring, smart way to go!

Watering system going in... gravity feed with waterer cups at each pen...

Feeding is also gravity feed in PVC pipes... my little piggies like to kick it all over and roll in it, so this keeps it from going everywhere.

We've gotten the framework for the outside runs on one side of the coop. Frantically trying to get a lot done while the sun is shining!!
