New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Pics
Bash looks huge in the pictures. How much do you think he weighs?

Bash is still more fluff than bulk. I asked my husband and he said maybe 8-9 lbs, but I really have no idea. He's still only 36 weeks old and has a lot of filling out left to do.

We have gone into Day 21 this evening with Miss Bonnie and her four eggs, though only one is a Brahma (other three were not fertile). We have one pip, at least two more are in the air cell and they are cheeping. I hope her instincts kick in properly and she mothers the babies, is not aggressive to them. But, it's night time and we can't stay with her all night long.

A couple of hours ago, there were two BR pips, the Brahma was in the air cell cheeping and I fear the last BR egg is a no-go. It is full of chick, but seems to have pulled back from the air cell and may be drying up. I'm about to go check her again. I think she may end up with three chicks.

One chick is out, a Barred Rock belonging to Apollo and Zara, another not far behind. Bonnie has turned from a sweet broody into a vicious viper! Whoa! Don't get eyes too close to her, ack! I have not seen her actually react to the baby yet, but she does raise up to allow movement under her, which is good. Some clamp down and crush the chick, not understanding fully what's happened.

Great! Sounds like things are going well so far. I can't wait for pictures :pop
