New duck can't walk

Wait, is angel wing a joint thing? That probably sounds super ignorant but seriously, my knowledge of ducks is nill. I need all the help I can get.

I have no idea how she was caught. I know the golden 300 was caught by her wings.

She is a roughly 4 month old white crested. Not Pekin.

There are lots of theories about why it happens. . I don't think anyone knows definitively why it happens. Sometimes one bird who is being fed the same as all the others will get it while the others do not.
My opinion leans towards a combination of a genetic predisposition for it, plus diet. Obviously a poor diet can cause a variety of issues. I'm sure that could be the case sometimes, but that doesn't explain why some get it and some don't when they all are raised the same.

@Cyprus if you can get her some vitamin b complex liquid is best TSC has one for cattle that works great for our birds. She could have neurological issues or maybe just needs a good boost of liquid b complex. Def worth trying to see if it helps. If you have peas or meal worms you can put it over them and that way she’ll get the full dose and the other duck can have the b too. It’s excellent vitamins for our ducks. The liquid b will say injectable but can be given orally just peel off the foil and use a dropper take 1 ml and put over a treat. Hopefully they will begin eating soon. Both are very pretty. We have many members who have white crested @Jpat just picked some up last week.

I just got this girl yesterday, and know nothing about her. Previous owner informed me the day of pickup that she had a limp, which her husband only noticed when he caught her for us. Yesterday, she could walk at least somewhat. Today, she can only drag herself on her stomach before falling forward on her beak and sitting on top of her legs. She tries to use her wings for balance.

She isn't super tame, I can only catch her because she's lame. Vet isn't an option. What might I be able to do for her?

I was not the one picking her up, but I was told the ducks were being kept in a shed with no pool or access to a body of water anywhere.

Yes, she has angel wing which I also don't know what to do about. I read this could be a parasite or nutrition problem. She hatched in April.

There was another duck I got with her, who is fine. I have not seen them eat yet, despite access to food. Tried to check crop, but I honestly know nothing about ducks and have no clue if I was doing that right  She is also really light. Maybe 2 pounds max?

As far as the mobility issues, they can lose circulation in their legs from a long-term difficulty or inability to walk, which can have grave results. One of my ducks ended up with the inability to walk on her feet, and after a lot of vet visits and help, you can try something called a "sling" which you can look up online. You can also try some legs stretches in addition to that, or if her legs are too deformed or she just doesn't improve gradually, I'd reccomend getting a mobility device like a chicken/duck walker (there's a youtube video online) or if you're really committed and have the money, you can get a chicken/duck wheelchair that is pretty affordable and is custom made to their measurements from https://www.handicappedpets.com/walkin-wheels-duck-wheelchair/
. That's the process that I've been going through with one of my girls that had an undetectable defficiency. Also adding some nutri-drench, B-complex, and a special diet has really helped. Feel free to message me or reply if you have any questions because I've been through the ringer when it goes to some major changes for her defficiency as well as full-time rehab and some "over the top" research for my handicapped little girl. They can get crazy random defficiencies but luckily I went and got opinions from 4 different vets as well as constant advice from a friend whose a world reknowned zoo vet. I don't have any experience with angel wing so I really hope you get some good advice on here. I hope things will/have improve(d) for your sick duck. It can be really hard trying to find out exactly what to do with those issues without some major vet help. I don't have any poultry vets in my state, so it took a lot to get accurate and helpful info from basic avian vets or an orthopedic specialist, but you have to make due with what you have access to. I hope any of my information or advice is useful for you.
