Anyone else having a not so good first snow?

I went out tonight to lock up birds and half of my chicken fences are down, a chicken run threatening to collapse (I had to get up there in the dark and shovel it off to hopefully save it), a turkey grow out pen partially collapsed in and the adult turkeys pen the entire covered run is caved in and broken. I am really bummed right now And its only November.

Ouch! That is NOT a good start to the winter season!!! This snow is very wet and heavy. We lost 3 sections of our horse fencing because some bushes that had woven into them still had leaves and collected all the snow. DH is out digging up the old posts and putting new fencing up. I hope you get everything repaired easily and that all the rest of the winter snows are kinder to you!!

Same here, the kennel fencing collapsed in due to the weight of the snow on the aviary netting, which tore anyway. I managed to get most of the kennel fence back up yesterday, some pieces held together by several pieces of super thick zip tie as the metal connectors are no where to be found. I figure they bent off and are buried under the snow. I managed to zip tie the netting where it burst as well on most of the runs but have more work today. I've had netting up for the last 3ish years and this hasn't happened before.
My group of Jubilees is under their 1/2 of the coop. Its 8x8 and has wind breaks for them. I put the food and water in there but I sure wish they'd take a few steps in the snow even if its just to run up the stairs into the coop.

never had any Tony but i understand they are good eating

Sorry your having a tough time also with all this snow. I hope you have an easy time getting everything fixed back up.

I cant fix most of my mess until some of the snow melts. Everytime I go outside I love to look at the beautiful snow but curse at it all the while lol. I don't like the snow.
