New Jersey

Hey all from NJ,

What I am looking for is only two breeds of chickens in NJ or PA border. I cant find anyone who has them.

Speckled Sussex and Buff Orpingtons.

If anyone knows who raises these breeds in NJ or PA please let me know. I ask because I want local raised birds. None from a hatchery. The birds are different IMO.

Thanks.

I know there are some of us still looking to fulfill our chicken obsession. Some agways are still getting chicks.

Speckled Sussex will be hard to find this time of year. I gave up months ago. You may have to wait till spring but keep trying Craigslist and even try posting a wanted on CL

I need homes for chicks that turned out to be roosters. Anyone interested or able to take one or more? I have 3 white silkies and 2 Orpington/Welsummer mix and a white crested black polish. They are all friendly. I just can't keep that many roosters. They are between the ages of 3 and 5 months old.

Wow that's a lot roosters. Sorry you had such luck. Hope you find them some homes. Try posting in the buy sell section also you never know what some one is looking for.

I have got some chicks from Jersey Chickens...I am not sure he doesn't just get them from hatcheries and resell. *I* wasn't overly impressed with the facility or the availability of the guy running it. I will keep my ears open for any of the breeds you mentioned. There is a lady in the Flemington area that breeds some certain breeds, but I don't know what off the top of my head.
