hi I'm Loli,
nice to meet everyone.
I own:
2 male silkies (one partridge)(one white)
2 silkie hens(both are partridge but one has more yellow and the other has more brown)
3 splash silkie chicks(unsexed) (1 is 3 weeks old/2 are 4 weeks old)
2 blue silkie chicks(unsexed) (I don't know if they are 3 or 4 weeks old)
2 polish (unsexed)(5 weeks old)
3 one day old chicks from tractor supply (unsexed)
1peking duck (unsexed)from Tractor Supply

Greetings and welcome to BYC Loli, from NE TX! So glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :old will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
 
Hi Lolli, Silkies and Polish are two of the most difficult breeds to sex young. Generally it's best to attempt silkies at 4-5 mos. of age Though sometimes not until they crow or lay.

There are several Silkie forums you can check out "Paint silkies," "Nothing but Partridge
Silkies', "Buff Silkies," "The Silkie thread,"(longest running), there is another variety of silkie (crossed to naked neck) called "Showgirls." (refers to both genders.

I'm sure there are Polish forums as well.
