Don't get me wrong. I do feel bad for having to humanely dispatch the dog. But I would feel worse if something were to happen to 1 of my chooks. I normally don't give warnings at all. I've been through this scenario too many times in the past, but since it was a puppy, I went out of my way to make sure the owner's were aware of the situation. Once through animal control, & a second time by returning the dog myself.

How many chances am I supposed to give?

Anyway, not my problem anymore, I'm sure this won't be the last predator I have to deal with this year.

David defended his sheep against lions and bears and HE WAS A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART!! God even used those very skills to defend Isreal against the Philistines. So He is obviously not against defending our livestock... it is our GOD GIVEN RESPNSIBILITY!!


This was obviously a time to kill as sad as it is. LCRT did not do it unjustly or rashly or inhumanely.

If you actually read my other posts, you would see that I'm not happy about ending the dogs life.

I post these type of things evry year. WHY????

To try and educate the irresponsible dog owners out there. I don't care if the dog was curled up snoozing on my back porch. Result would be the same. What I did was totally LEGAL.

Hey All,

If removing preditors is legal in the area which the person is acting to protect their chickens, and the person acts legally, then there isn't really any room for debate.

If the original poster is looking for other people's opinions on what they did, then they would have asked.
