Don't get me wrong. I do feel bad for having to humanely dispatch the dog. But I would feel worse if something were to happen to 1 of my chooks. I normally don't give warnings at all. I've been through this scenario too many times in the past, but since it was a puppy, I went out of my way to make sure the owner's were aware of the situation. Once through animal control, & a second time by returning the dog myself.
How many chances am I supposed to give?
Anyway, not my problem anymore, I'm sure this won't be the last predator I have to deal with this year.
