(1) Are you new to chickens?
Yes, totally new to raising chickens though I currently may be considered a Utube professional due to sheer volume of videos I have been watching on raising chickens!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None currently but we are getting 10 chicks from Alchemy Farms in their surprise box slated to be shipped to us on Aug 2nd.

No idea what they will send it’s exciting like chicken roulette.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Just puzzling over the coop design, what to feed them, and finding the answers to the endless questions I have, has been fascinating and satisfying so far.

Is the big round thing a water bowl? Just asking because they will drown in that.Initial brooder set up pack n play style with a perch they probably don’t need and probably will not use but the kids created it so what do you do? You put it in of course lol. We are starting with paper towels then Ill move to litter after I am sure they are all eating and drinking and pooping as they should. I have chick electrolytes and Vetericyn on hand for minor first aid and of course starter crumble. Am I forgetting anything?
Its a chick waterer top down its hard to see but its a mason jar with bottom screwed onto it that allows the water to come out. It lets in about a 1/4 inch of water at a time. Like this one.Is the big round thing a water bowl? Just asking because they will drown in that.
