New Year Block swap

I'd hate to change the number at this point if anyone has already completed their 12? Has anyone?
I've decided on my block as the Road to Oklahoma. Because, well, I'm in Oklahoma! It's got a few triangles but not an excessive amount! I'm planning on 4 fabrics.

It doesn't matter to me how many blocks since I will be making more to make a quilt top. It will be a sampler with everyone's different blocks, so I've been working on different ones to decide which one I might enjoy doing for the swap. So far I have completed 24 blocks with mostly browns, blacks, golds, muted blues and a little dark green. The blue is not bright like it looks in the picture. Its what I have and was going by the colors in the Earthtones - creative color schemes that katsdar had posted. I will keep the blocks that didn't turn out as well and send either one block design or several block designs for the swap. I haven't decided yet, I'm just having too much fun doing a block a day.

Oh wow, you have all those done already!

I haven't even for sure picked out a pattern! Oh and soooooooo pretty.

I am going to go with fenrosie, just do 12 blocks and I will sort them and then we will each get potluck blocks.
All of those block from both of you ladies are just beautiful, wow

Please stick to 12 blocks. It doesn't matter if we have more than 12 people as long as we all get 12 blocks back. This way we can accept any late comers and I am not counting CathieSue or myself as a latecomer. We don't have to turn anyone away . It shouldn't make it any more difficult to divvy out the blocks. We currently have 13 people so that's thirteen piles of blocks. Start at one end share out one person's blocks then when you run out of them continue with the second person's and so on.

Does anyone fancy doing a little mug coaster quilt swap for Christmas? We pull out the names of people willing to do this and whoever's name we get, we send the mug coaster quilt that we have made to that person. For example, I might get Cathy Sue, she might get Kat, Kat might get Fenrosie and so on. Just a thought.
We will stick to 12 blocks for this swap
That sounds like fun. I'm in and you will have to say size etc give details how many blocks etc

@coldupnorth
Your blocks are just great, I see a couple in there that I have wanted to try myself. And I love the colors.
@cathiesue I really like like the piecing in this block too.
I'm taking a quilt class on hexagon quilt blocks next week and I will be doing modern colors for that one, my brain will very busy with colors and shapes for a while..Ha Ha
I think that 12 is best too. my .02

Forgot to say that I love the idea of a mug block swap. Sounds like fun!

cathiesue- I love the Road to Oklahoma block and since you are from Oklahoma it would be the perfect choice for you! It will look great with 4 fabrics. I looked at doing a Minnesota block, but the one I find has paper piecing and I'm not very accomplished at that yet. I'm going to see if I can do it another way.

Would you guys like to hear a sad, but true tale???? .............................................................................................................. I have "made up my mind" 3 times as to what block I am sewing, and just now found another idea!!!!!! I think I have quilter's pica!
