Hi from AdelaideHi, a 'newbie' here to the group! I've kept various chicken over the years & currently have Pekin Bantams, now we're living back out of town. Being a retired Vet Nurse, Dog Exhibitor/Groomer, Boarding Kennel/Cattery owner & breeder of Dexter cattle, I've had much experience with a wide variety of animals .. both domestic & farm animals .. but believe we never can know enough! My hubby & I are supposed to be 'retired' now that 70 is looming ..
There are seven Pekin Bantam mixed colour hens & a gorgeous Pekin Bantam rooster, from which I'm hoping to set eggs soon. I've never used an incubator, so I'll have questions about that for a start!
I also have a small flock of Dorper x Damara sheep, 2 rescue cats & a rescue dog on just over 8 acres & a keen interest in gardening keeps me busy outside .. as I hate being a slave to housework indoors, which I can easily ignore with a good book!
There is just myself & my wonderful hubby & the critters here, but we have 5 sons between us, 10 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren & family that are spread Australia & New Zealand wide!
