Newbie here with Pekin Bantams

Hello busy lady and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
What breed(s) of dog did you show?
What breed(s) of cats did you raise?
:jumpyHi! Thank you & Greetings from Australia!
Over a 35yr+ period, I bred/showed/exported Australian Silky Terriers & Maltese. During that time, I also showed/bred Boston Terriers, showed a Great Dane, a Rottweiler that was one of the 1st in Australia from Germany & a cple of Irish Wolfhounds. During the 'exhibition' days, I also handled other breeders dogs for them & groomed many. In the later yrs, I was involved locally in establishing the Tenterfield Terrier.
Many cats have been 'house mates' over the yrs, but I only ever bred Himalayan Cats. I still have & breed various goldfish (since I was 14yrs old) & started an interest in genetics with Budgerigars & Pigeons at about the same time. I'm afraid I've outlived all those & now only have a rescue dog & 2 cats, the chooks & the sheep. Oh, and the garden where I've been 'breeding'/exporting Canna Lily for quite a few yrs .. so I keep an interest with genetics with them, the sheep & the chooks for colours.
I'd love to hear about other members interests! :wee

:jumpyHi, a 'newbie' here to the group! I've kept various chicken over the years & currently have Pekin Bantams, now we're living back out of town. Being a retired Vet Nurse, Dog Exhibitor/Groomer, Boarding Kennel/Cattery owner & breeder of Dexter cattle, I've had much experience with a wide variety of animals .. both domestic & farm animals .. but believe we never can know enough! My hubby & I are supposed to be 'retired' now that 70 is looming .. :lau
There are seven Pekin Bantam mixed colour hens & a gorgeous Pekin Bantam rooster, from which I'm hoping to set eggs soon. I've never used an incubator, so I'll have questions about that for a start!
I also have a small flock of Dorper x Damara sheep, 2 rescue cats & a rescue dog on just over 8 acres & a keen interest in gardening keeps me busy outside .. as I hate being a slave to housework indoors, which I can easily ignore with a good book!
There is just myself & my wonderful hubby & the critters here, but we have 5 sons between us, 10 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren & family that are spread Australia & New Zealand wide!
Welcome to BYC!! :)

The Nurture Right 360 is my favorite incubator. I have also had good success with a still air incubator that we added a computer fan too. With the still air incubator it didn't have a turner so I turned the eggs 3 times a day. I've never incubated bantam eggs but in the still air on we did standard chickens eggs and in the Nurture Right 360 we did both coturnix quail and standard chicken eggs and had good success with both incubators.
