I am so sorry you are dealing with this horrible issue... what happen to the American way ?????? Email Bill O'Reily on Fox News take this story to people like me that say WE HAVE RIGHTS ALSO let folks know your side of the story and it will put pressure on the media .

Of all the bad stuff that goes on in this country why are people concerned about a family who want to live the way they choose.

We are on your side - if things like this keep going on - one day " the law " may tell us - NO DOGS or Cats or even a limit on how many children you have - sounds like China .

I can see having chickens without a rooster in ANY city, but goats? Come on!

We are allowed to have chickens and goats, before we got either we looked it up and asked the head of code enforcement.

I and my family are very law abiding and we never had chickens in our other homes because they were not legal in the other places that we have lived.

I have many friends in this neighborhood that have chickens and the city knows it and does not bother them, it is not like I am the only in the whole neighborhood who has chickens and is forcing everyone to just accept it.

I know of 100 chickens within a mile of me! and those are just the ones that I know about. The city has ordinances on how to keep chickens!!! one of my neighbors had 40 squab chickens and he was not cleaning up after them, so the city cited him and made him clean it up, not get rid of them or have $250 fine a day.

The goats are Nigerian dwarfs they are 17 inches tall and they are pets not farm animals, just ask anyone.
nobody even knew that we had goats until the helicopters came and filmed the goats playing, we have had them for 5 months already.

The reason that we are fighting is because they are LEGAL and they let other people keep them, so why are we different?

I'm very sorry for what you and your family is going through.

What I don't get is that everything in the US is about being "green"....eating locally.....and yet, when it comes down to it, they won't let you have a few chickens in your back yard so you can have your own fresh eggs?

If it were me, I would really point out the hypocrisy of the city not being in-step with the "green movement".....all talk, no action.

So is this "green movement" something real? Or what? I bet you could find quotes of city administrators talking about becoming "more green" in this city.....and show their hypocrisy.

The first time a news story ran we responded to all of the posts clearing things up, but people just got abusive and it was too hard to deal with it, so my father forbade us to even read the comments. it is easier than reading, stressing over i,t writing a heated response, staying up late to see the next post, obsessing over little things, and taking it all personally.
