Really weird thing happened last night...although it's really good. Last week I lost all 6 of my hens...they just disappeared.

While sitting outside with the DH we saw one of them...in our yard by the coop.

So I believe my original theory, that they had been abducted by gypsy chickens, may be accurate and they are now escaping because a life on the run really isn't all it's cracked up to be. lol.

More likely they were chased off by something and are wandering around lost....OR stolen and escaped??

wild- are Greenfire's langshans really lying plum eggs?? most dont lay that color anymore. From what I understand, most the langshan breeders have breed away from the plum colored eggs

. If you just want great langshans you should get up with Will (langshanman) on here, he's got really nice ones.
Their website says that their langshans yield a 75% chance of laying plum colored eggs, I'm not really interested in breeding(at this point) just was hoping to find some to add all the colors to my egg basket. But I doubt that will happen, because as you said, most don't breed for that color anymore, and its really expensive to find birds that May lay that color.
