Baby ducks are so adorable, that’s so cute the five week old fits right in.Well we had some chaos here and did not get duck coop area extended as soon as hoped so that I could get last months “babies”, 17 chicks, out to the new coop brooder area. So I did as suggested and YUP!, my 7 older gals were in shock at 17 new roommates and didn’t bother them not one bit! Now to finish the duck expansion so this months 15 ducklings can go out in a few weeks.
I left the only duck from last month’s hatch (5 weeks) in the mudroom brooder and added the 15 ducklings from a week ago in with her. I think she (he) is in love lol. She is a pretty attentive 5 week old mama lmao
Fingers crossed for the weak ones. Maybe it’s the shell?Day 10 for the paint Silkie eggs. 3 developed. 1 looks great. Strong veining and movement. 1 looks okay. Veining and movement isn’t quite as strong, but not bad. And 1 looks eh. Veining isn’t as good as the others, and pretty weak movement.

I hatched out only 1 Cochin bantams out of an eBay order last month. It was cross beaked and had one eye! I let the seller know but they didn't respond. What kind of chick was it? I've been incubating for over 10 years and have never seen that before! So another chick hatched, making six, but it is is crossed beaked and only has one eye. It is not being bullied by any of the other five chicks in the brooder. Does anybody have any suggestions for what to do with it. If it can eat and drink on its own we are definitely keeping it but I don’t know what to do if it can’t. We haven’t tried feeding it but that’s because it just hatched last night
