November Hatch-A-Longs 2017

Set 15 Red Dorking eggs (Did not think my roo was doing his job) well he was! Out of 15 I have 11 set to hatch on the 10th. I threw in one Olive Egged x English lemon Buff Orpington and 1 Cochin x English Lemon Buff Orpington. Lock down is on Tuesday!

Those of us that are hatchaholics will tell you that there's no need to wait until Spring! There's a great (BIG) New Year's Day hatch-along, often with contests and prizes. Plus there are hatch-alongs monthly. Don't limit yourself! The fun can be year-round!

enabling my bad habits!!! I love that momma hen did all the work, but now I'm worried about them freezing.. I'm thinking about pulling them away from her and raising them in the house/ garage until they are fully feathered and can be acclimated. Thoughts? I live in the pnw so it isn't so much freezing weather as it is just constant cold and wet

On 11- 1st I had 6 hatch under a broody, had 6 hatch last year about this time and they all did well.. I just set 13 under another broody 11-5-17.. gets to -20f here in the winter sometimes.. mama keeps them warm

OH she told me she was going to bring some over, just not that many! Haha, I don't mind because I'm eating 4 dozen!

Counted my eggs last night after getting uglybator up and running - 107 eggs currently incubating in my little apartment!!! 13 due to hatch the 15th, the rest are due on thanksgiving and the day after.

Ah thank you! This is my vey first time so I'm just trying to let her do what she does naturally... this has been so exciting!

Lockdown initiated, 72 hours and counting! 11 Red Dorking, 1 Olive Egger/Orpington cross and 1 Cochin/Orpington cross. Candles all and have 12 babies cruising around but the darkest egg can't even see in. Can't wait till Friday!
