NY chicken lover!!!!

Stony - sorry to hear of the huge loss of those tables! That is awful! I'd be so PO'ed! So now will you have to fulfill that order all over again? Sounds like so much work to have to do again. That just stinks.
well the good news is I purchased the added insurance. So they are covered. But it will take time, lots of it fighting with the insurance company to get it done in a timely manner and not the 6 to 8 months they like to take.
I have looked at pictures of the damage. A good furniture repair guy could repair them all. My hope is to have them repaired in Indiana where they were delivered. Worst case I think is I'll have to build 2 new ones and ship them out at some point. But I talked with the buyer and I can talk her through temporary repairs so she can use them for her events (weddings) she has them rented for.
It still stinks all around.

Countdown to hatch...
Blackie's 1 egg left is due to hatch on Saturday!  :fl   Should be a black australorp.

Blondie is still sitting on her eggs in the garage, but she accidentally broke one today.  She's such a friendly bird right now.  She makes these cute Gizmo noises when you're near.  When she broke the egg she kept looking at the nest and making these noises like she was sad.  I'm hoping 2 other eggs are not damaged.  Yolk did get on them, but I wiped them off before it dried with paper towel.  Hoping they will be okay!  They seem clean.  She's only been sitting 5 days.
Her Gizmo noises just kill me, though.

Stella's been making the same noises, I love it. The silkies? Never heard anything. They seem to be very grumpy broodies! Both Pearl and this Splash hen I have now go at you like they're going to karate chop you with their beak! LOL my son wanted to pet my splash hen today when I opened the door to check on her and I warned him not to, if he did he wasn't coming crying to me when she got him.

I candled her eggs today and 3 were empty, not a single thing going on inside them. Just one with active veining and movement. So now I'm wondering what will happen when/if that lonely chick hatches a week and a half from now and it has no hatchlings. I don't know if it'll be two small to place with the others!?!

Well that sounds better than having to make them again! But I hear ya, still terrible. I hope everything works out smoothly on both ends. :)

Then call hubby to help you off the floor.... Lol.
Actually laying flat on your back is not recommended (as I'm sure tab knows) while pregnant. Weight of the baby compresses the artery. But I would do a similar stretch in bed too while pregnant, just not for too long. It rotates the angle of the hips, stretching the lower back and realigning the spine. I did pilates once in a while before pregnant, lots of great stretches. I had more pelvic pain when I was pregnant. Little girl was head down and would stretch, pushing my hips apart. Guess she was just making room for her exit, it worked. Very quick and easy drug-free birth.

Good to know! I thought that was just at the end of pregnancy. You're too uncomfortable anyways to lie on your back!

I'm wondering the same thing with the one egg due this Saturday... that is, IF it hatches. I plan on leaving it with momma in their own little area.

We had a surprise this Morning ..I get up my Husband says " did you count your chickens when you put them to bed ?"
I said no Richard ( my son )helped me he closed them up .
We had one chicken running around outside ..I dont know where she slept ...or why I didnt hear her outside last night ..
She sure squawked this morning when she saw me !
She wanted to get in the run NOW ! I managed to get her in pushing back all the others from the door .
I hear this smack ! She hits the Ramp & into the nesting box ..So I went in to check her she was standing ..
I reached in under her to feel ..And there was a Hot Fresh Egg ! she must have been holding it in ? It took about a minute or less to come out ..
I am just glad ... the Foxes stayed out of our yard last night .
Our Tenant said Mon morning she saw a fox run across our yard & down into the woods
