NY chicken lover!!!!

I love this thread too, its full of nice people :)

Glad to see its warming up some for us the wind must have changed, I went to bed early with several layers of sweats and my cap..was freezing and woke up sweating and over heated.

Horse and buggys should not even be out in weather like that, its not even legal  :barnie   but people don't  follow laws for all sorts of reasons I suppose.

How would they know with no tv or radio sometimes they use a sleigh but along can't afford one a buggy cost like $4000 for a cheap one

Good question. Maybe they don't know. Or maybe they just have no common sense. Or maybe they absolutely had to go somewhere and took chance. Such rough weather to travel even in a car. I'm glad the mean weather is almost over.

This stupid weather. I took a slow ride into a guardrail on the highway on my way home after hitting some black ice. No real damage, I knocked off a little decorative thing, bent my licence plate, and shifted my hood over a touch, but all cosmetic. But still. Ah well, my grandpa's a mechanic and I have an appointment with him tomorrow already for an oil change so I'll have him take a look at everything just to be sure.

And half of my eggs today were frozen solid today too. Where the heck is spring!?

Can't sleep anymore, I woke up in the middle of the night to check the eggs and one of them started zipping!? Is that the word? Lol Anyway, went back to bed woke up at 5am to two chicks!

And the other two eggs have pips. So that's all 5 eggs still! WooHoo!!!

Stony says flip em ...& carry them upside down for a bit.. see if that works
I've already been doing that, this isn't his first sign of aggression. The day before when it was 50 out and everyone was out he acted like he was going to go after the dog so I got in between him and carried him and all that. He still attacked. He's got no more chances. I love my dog way more than I have tolerance for an aggressive rooster. He will make some really nice stock.

Not sure about legal or not buggy-wise, but they need to get to work, doctor's appointments and buy groceries just like we do. Given how much a horse and buggy cost to replace if they crash in the weather, rest assured they weren't out just joy riding to see how fast their new wheels could go in snow.
