Very cute! Well, you know when you get sick of hatching I'll take frizzle eggs

I plan on getting you your eggs once I have all my hens laying consistently for a week like they were. Right now I'm definitely trying to get some pullets to hatch though. Lol. If you want some boys let me know.

No rush! I have duck eggs set, sebastopol eggs coming, and naked neck eggs coming. The incubator will be packed full for while.

Evening all. Finally stopped raining. Let everyone out for a bit when we got home to enjoy some grass and hunt for worms. I threw the broodies out of the coop to get some air and chill out. Played with my babies cause they are soooooo cute! They are losing their fuzzys and getting their feathers. Got hardly any eggs today. Not sure why. I will have to start adding supplements to their water and see if that helps. Candled the eggs in the bator tonight and only two of them are questionable. So hoping they all make it.

County--nice birds as usual. Love baby pictures!

Lynzi--good luck with the duckling. I hope it hatches for you.

Ta for now.

Not a lot of time, but

FOX! came today and got one of my EE hens.

The only chickens out were the ones in the fenced in yard. Neighbor says Fox was here yesterday too, but I didn't notice anyone missing.

The side hoop with all the broodies was closed and I didn't let the back hoop coop out all day so they were closed. The Dels are never out so only the Ducks and CR's birds were out in the yard.

The woods are grown over and the neighbor says she saw my chickens down near the creek.

THEY WILL NOT BE OUT FOR A WHILE. I don't know what I can do about the fox at this point.

Hubby brought a visitor down to the house. Little girl got to enjoy holding little Cottonball.

He likes this spring's chicks, they are very friendly although we don't handle them or want lap chickens. Trying to think of a good way to integrate tiny bantam boys with the LF flock, can't think of any.
Eggs into lockdown tonight. Candled them all again as I pulled them from the cartons. Found one more non-developing, not sure how I missed it last week. Couple more questionable, but left them in since I couldn't be sure with the dark shells. Got a good view of a foot in one! And seen movement in a few. Humidity is jumping up with all this rain, about 50% now, was at 35% previously.

Baby ducks dont have active oil glands in their tails .so how long should they be dried & warmed up after a bath / pool swim. ?
They are a month now ..they preen themselves ..they seem okay after their swim .without the dry off now .

Are they inside or out mine when they get out I put them back in brooder no issues then when we put them out fully feathered no problems my Pekings weren't tho but were fine

Unless you have the A/C on full blast at your house, I would say that with this warm weather they should be fine. If it were winter and houses were colder I would say you may still want to dry them. But it's plenty warm now. Mine always swam in their water dish and would preen themselves after. I didn't dry them.
