NY chicken lover!!!!

I know that farm too!

I have 5 tractors. 2 are over 10 years old, they are big and bulky and I only use them for meat birds. This is probably their last year of use though because of my new design.

I have 1 5 x 10 triangle shaped tractor that will be the new meat model.
I have 2 4x8 triangle shaped tractors that are going to be my new laying and breeding system as soon as weather allows. These are light enough that my 8 and 10 yer old can move them.
i am not sure that farmer still uses that tunnel but i no its still there ..lol

yeah i built my tractor to big , 8x16 and i made it out of 2x4's so it was very heavy ..i used 3 times before i said enough ..the birds wouldnt come to the door so i could put them back in to the coop at night ..i only have sm property ..about an acre and most of that is wet and or wooded..i wished i had made it ligher..anyways its gone now ..but i like the fence tunnel idea ..

nuttyfrom6kids thats sounds like a great business idea..congrats and good luck..oh and the new family member sounds real handsum..

with a heavy heart i tell you all this.
my daughter called last night , she told us they were at her boy freinds moms house out in maplesprings ..shes an emt and her boyfriends sister has chickens and was part of the reason i have birds now ..anyhow they heard a big crash outside .they went out to find the grandfgather and uncle hit by a car and killed both of them ..so i ask for all your preys for the family ..its never easy to loose someone and to loose 2 at christmas time has got to be harder ..my daughter said there was nothing they could do ..they tried cpr for along time ..it was right out in front of the maple springs fire hall ..the whole family are involved with the fire departments around the county ..

Thank you for the good wishes the store is in Ava address is 5774 W. Ava Rd. Ava Ny 13303 the phone number to it is 315-942-2976. Hours are kinda erratic right now while everything is getting set up so call first before coming out. Not sure if I can post feed prices on here without getting in trouble so if anyone knows let me know and I will put them on here. For now though just message me and I will give you the prices but I can say this my prices are much cheaper than tractor supply like my cracked corn is more than $3 cheaper per 50 lbs. Right now I have hog feed, corn meal, whole corn, layer mash, goat/sheep feed, oats, cow feed, horse feed, and cracked corn. All the feed is in 100 lb bags except the cracked corn is in 50lb bags and if the 100 lb bag is too heavy we will open and split into 2 bags for you. This feed is from a local feed mill in Boonville NY (not Baileys) they produce it right there and a majority of it is organically grown.

excellent Nutty !

I'll be placing orders before the next chicken stock ... hope you have a TRUCK !

I live too far to be a weekly customer - but I can stock up !!!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday I haven't been online as I have been extremely busy here. We have decided to start a new business venture and will be a feed and general store. I already have feed in stock from a local source including layer mash and am setting up with Poulin grains and will be a Poulin feed dealer. Hope to have all the chicken supplies in stock and will be selling chicks this spring also. We figured general store and feed were great with all the Amish I have around me I know they have already preordered 100's of baby chicks for spring. So hopefully this goes good.

Hubby got me a new puppy for Christmas he is an AKC golden Retriever who I have named Stanley and he is the biggest baby. Now am looking for a female mini schnauzer and a female golden retriever.

Sounds good.

How are your C. Rocks doing. Any laying yet?

Hope everyone is doing well this holiday season.

Nutty, good luck w your new venture. Wish u were closer. Sounds like a great project.

WNY, you & your family are in my thoughts & prayers.

We had a Christmas miracle (chicken style) here. Just over a week before Christmas, I had a break-in to the chicken house. Raccoon I think. It found a weak spot that has since been fixed. Somehow everyone seemed fine somehow except one hen who was wedged under the fence charger hiding. I had named her Elvis before she grew into a hen. With injuries on her face, she refused to eat. Every time I checked on her I expected to find her cold & stiff. I squirted water into her mouth a couple times per day with a syringe, but still she didn't eat. After 7 days of not eating, she was getting very skinny. I was wondering if I should have just put her out of her misery. On that seventh day when I once again put soaked bread next to her, she picked it up and ate it. And picked at some corn & some crumble. Sure enough, she decided to stick around and is now doing quite well. Yay!

Here's Elvis. Her crest was black when she was a chick, reminding me of the king.

Have a safe & happy new year!

Me Too ...not a weekly customer ...A hour & 1/2 drive for me
We have decided to start a new business venture and will be a feed and general store. CONGRats ! So is the metal building your store ?
Does your layer mash have grit in it ? my local mill adds grit to theirs..Ive been giving it to the ducks ...I believe it has less protein than the store product ...the Boys dont need that extra boost in their feed ..no eggs from them
