NY chicken lover!!!!

Yesterday my Roo was crowing & crowing ..& crowing ...I couldnt figure out why ( he is normally a quiet boy )
He usually only crows for a reason ...I figured out the reason later .
My feed for the chicken is in the bilco ...when I go in I usually have a few chicken s go in with me ..looking for scraps .
Well one got shut in the bilco between the outside door & the cellar door .. She was sandwiched in on the top step ..
See how small that space is ? LOL Flat-ist Chicken I ever saw

Evening Everyone,
I'm going to be taking a ride up to the Syracuse area next weekend and was curious if anyone had or knew of anyone who has Bantam Favorelles. My friend here in CT is looking for some and I figured I'd ask since I'm coming up there. If anyone has any for sale feel free to PM me. Thanks!!

No harm done ..they get found .eventually....I go in & out there at least 2 times a day
Well it happened again today ...I dont know if it is the same chicken . Ive been closing it quickly today because of the rain ..
There is scratch that spilled in the bottom so they are looking for that
I have to remember to close the garage door because Big Delores and her gang get in there. There is a squirrel getting in their coop so they don't hang out there. I've been chasing it away and tried to trap it but my trap is old and won't hold the bugger.

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing with the snow? We got snow, and now it's raining on top of it. Understandably, the chickens are not pleased. I haven't seen them venture out of the coop at all except to eat and drink quickly before going back inside. The legbars are growing like weeds, and I just set some quail, so I'll have new layers by March. I've sworn not to set another egg till spring, which means I better start selling the cemani cross eggs to reduce the temptation, lol.

Well there is little if any snow here. It's all melted.

Don't have any legbars but if you or anyone is selling eggs I might have a mind to buy some. I could switch to them instead of EE's. Then I could get rid of the roo chicks and not have to worry about them. Do you eat the roos? Are they any good for the stew pot.

The roosters are actually decent size, thanks to the barred rock in their background. They have kind of that broad and deep body, with a bit of the leghorn look too. I'd bet they'd be good eating, although I haven't eaten them myself. They weight about six or seven pounds. I'll have them available in the spring if you decide you'd like some :)
