A few clears, and one was cracked all down the side, started to develop, and may have quit so I need to candle it tonight, but most are looking good.
Funny, this year I had one crack and rot in the incubator. i have not had that happen before....now you have one. HHmmm, something genetic perhaps? Thoughts?

Pyxis has incubated out a cracked egg before - I know because I have that hen and she is 2 years old ! :)

Come on - crossing my fingers for the cracked egg - and this is fun because I actually want both roosters and hens - so the final percentage will all be fine with me!

Eggs will hit day 21 on Wednesday the 13th ... that seems a long way to go with a cracked shell .... Come on peepers !!!

Go!! Go!!

Could be, I didn't see any cracked ones before they went in and then after it started to develop it suddenly had a crack all down the side. Perhaps one hen is laying eggs that can't take the stress of incubation? Heat makes things expand, so perhaps there is too much white in the egg and the shell cracks as it expands when warmed in the incubator?

Going fox hunting in the next few days!..Lost yet another one of my ducks to that bugger

..I'm sure that is what took it..I don't think that I would be as mad if it took one of the drakes, but it has taken 2 of my girls and now the boys out number the girls and they are getting the crap beat out of them by these boys...Guess I'm going to have to get rid of some of these boys a little sooner then I thought. I Should have gotten the bigger incubator!! Need to get cracking on hatching...

Went for a search and recovery mission this afternoon. I walked all around our 5 acres and about 5+more of the fields behind the house and didn't find any sign till I was on my way back to the path to our property..I prayed for a sign...something to show me that she was truly gone....Just out of the corner of my eye I found a feather in the woods in the back of our property...about 20 feet from the yard..Under a tree there were a few small bunches of feathers..Those few feathers are all that are left of my 2 girls.

..It is so on now!!!!

Sorry for your loss Luv. I am envisioning you like Bill Murray after the groundhog throwing sticks of dynamite in the fox dens!

Perhaps. Something to keep an eye on.

Maybe used cat litter dumped in those holes will make whatever it is go away. I know it's not quite as exciting as dynamite, but we got rid of a groundhog who chose a spot right next to the foundation of our house to build his den.

Sorry for ur loss. I'm sure the chicken eating critters r extra caniving after that long miserable winter. I have to move several roosters sooner than I expected as well. Not a fan of that part of owning chickens.
