NY chicken lover!!!!

It seems to me if there is "zero milk or zero slaughter withdraw" as it says right on the bottle the eggs should be okay. Some folks might withdraw for their own peace of mind I suppose. I do know some folks use a paste type Ivermectin. Those I think are for horse though.

I don't know of an Ivermec for chickens. Is there one and that's where you've read about the withdraw. If there is one and you're right I might change my handling of eggs.

Though I don't use it on a regular basis and I've never seen worms in the poop. I usually only treat them one time when I do use it and perhaps twice a year.

Ivermectin is different - what you're talking about is Eprinex and Ivomec, the active ingredient of which is eprinomectin, not ivermectin. What I'm talking about is sold in a yellow box with red writing, is half the cost, and is a different product :) It's for cattle as well and chicken use is off label, but the withdrawal time is commonly agreed upon to be 14 days.

The chickens get a lot of plantain. It is rather prolific in my backyard. I've used cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes and cucumber and pumpkin and ACV and fresh bedding and many other options. I do this regardless of poop conditions. I didn't notice a huge change in the birds, but enough to start checking fresh poops. I followed them around and on multiple occasions saw roundworms. I treated the main flock as recommended for 48 hrs and the second coop (separated from the others) for 24 hours. I ordered Ivermectin as follow up for next week.

I am going to withdraw eggs for the week and feed them to my dog or chickens (or give them away for people trying to hatch?). Once I treat with Ivermectin I'll withdraw eggs and not feed back to chickens or my dog for 2 more weeks. Does that sound reasonable?

I'm paranoid that the worms have been transmitted to my dog. I'll consider treatment for her too.

I hate parasites. I'll deal, but ugh.
