NY chicken lover!!!!

Anyone local have some old chicken saddles I could buy? Even if they need new elastic, I could sew some on. I'd rather ask you all than order new ones. Better to give someone local the money.

I want to let Frenchie out with the others, but I need some way to protect her back and shoulders from the others.

Ke Pyx and Arm Thanks I will probably order another tarp from tarps.com before winter in a design that suits my style.

Lap so sorry about your hen, there is always a chance of spreading worms it may be beneficial to de-worm.

Xon OMG I wish you all the best. You may want to increase her selenium and protein to help keep the muscle tissue strong as the skin heals around it.

Well My teens passed their final integration into the older flock ..They have been ranging with them during the day ..sleeping in the small dog cage at night ...
The flock was settled in the coop but awake ..I picked up Roxy & put her in the entryway ...
giving her a gentle nudge to get on the roost ..
My red was ohhh Im going to peck her ...I said to her Dont YOu even think about it ..& blocked her with my arm .
She decided to move down instead .
Next I picked up Rexy ..(I love her she is so soft & so tame ..) And did the same thing ..She definitely didnt want to go in there ..a firmer nudge .
Warning Another Hen Dont you Dare ! & protecting them with my arm ..
They settled in ...The hens settled in ..Night Night everyone !

Miranda the silver blue americauna has passed. RIP pretty girl.
Should I do a preventative deworming on the rest of the flock? She was never fully integrated with the flock, only spent the night in the coop twice and didn't free range with them. The 4 young roos are in the Eglu she was in, so could worm them, but don't want to lose egg sales due to withdrawal.
RIP Miranda ! So Sorry ! You tried to help her

Snakes and bugs Ewww can't stand either. I have noticed ants are terrible and so are the deer flies got chomped up this afternoon while I was out there watching the ducks they are definitely characters. Whoever was asking about Eprinex it doesn't have a withdrawal period so go ahead and treat them. Well made that drive to Plattsburgh and back twice am beat now I remember why this nurse stopped traveling to Connecticut to work my back and shoulder are killing me and my feet and legs swelled up like balloons from sitting too long. I said you know you are in the mountains when you see Moose Crossing signs instead of deer crossing signs. Gorgeous country but hard on the shoulder as the roads are very twisty through the mountains.

Have a question have 2 chicks that were I got from Mcmurray hatchery on 5/20 One is a RIR and the other is my free rare exotic chick and I believe it is a dark Brahma but they came to me with a lot of feathers gone like the exotic one came with a bald back I have checked them see no infestations all the others are fine No signs of injury so don't believe they are being picked tried blukote tried a saddle and for some reason they get no feathers. Anyone have a clue as to what to do or why they have no feathers?

Ok you know you need an intervention when your discover card which you used to pay for some eggs and maybe a chick or 2 or more LOL calls at 1:30 in the morning to verify that the activity is not fraudulent LOL

Maybe they were overcrowded where they came from, or the other chickens had a protein deficiency and ate their feathers? Does the exotic have feathered legs? If you had any pictures that would help tons.

Also, how did the duck egg hatching go? I feel like they should be due anytime.

Will try to get pictures tomorrow and yes it does have feathered legs and you would think that after 2 months they would have some feathers back or at least started. Duck eggs are due anytime now as today is day 28
