NY chicken lover!!!!

Thanks! Maybe I'l have to check that show out too. I mean, I shouldn't, lol, because I know I'll spend more money, but it would be fun!

I don't think you'll have trouble finding bantams at the show. There were tons for sale at this one, just not of the particular breed I was looking for. But there were lots of silkies and d'uccles.
When is the show? I might be inclined to go and take a look. Of course, I really shouldn't.....

The Syracuse one is on 10/8 :) But, that's a Sunday, and it's too late now for me to take time off for it, so it looks like I can't make that one :( Still, anyone that can go should! It was so amazing to see all the birds at the one I went to.

Nice Update
Thanks Gramma - yes saw the tomato baking trick on a UK Homesteader Series (River Cottage) a few years ago, when the tomatoes are baked the skins come off easily and the flesh is nice and soft so goes through the sieve easily. I just use olive oil and sprinkle dried Italian herb mix over them, although you could add garlic, onions etc.

Honey has always been lowest on the pecking order, and pretty subdued, so it was very shocking to see her be so persistently violent - not just pecking if Ginger got too close, but spotting her from a distance and running the length of the lawn to go for her - on that occasion terrified Ginger flapped up into a tree!

Your little Frizzle looks so cute, did you manage to work out if it was male or female?

Size Matters - with chickens . That is why it is good to introduce them when they are the same size .. Also Sometimes what the one on the bottom learns is to peck others
You can try disciplining Honey tell her no when she does this and pick her up . When my hens are picking on others at roosting time I tell them Stop ...If they dont I come over and give them a little tap . that usually stops that ..
I hate squabbles

well it has cooled down some Im sure the chickens are relieved ...
i am thinking of going to the show to sell ..
Can you just do that ?

You'll want to check, but the answer is probably yes. There is likely a selling fee you have to pay to do so - at the show I went to it was $10.

@Pyxis look at the frizzle I bought from you! Love her. The other is a rooster unfortunately. A very sweet one tho.

Gorgeous girl! And it looks like she got barring from her dad. That surprised me this year; I didn't know he was barred. But then half of my chicks started hatching barred, lol.
