You'll have to see my "boardwalk"....except for the gaps between the boards to let the water run through you could "stroll" down it in heels. Ray doesn't build junk....he build palaces and my chickens have a palace, with a boardwalk entrance to it.

I bake and sew, we sell firewood, we dispatch roosters, I have incubators idle now, quail are growing and some are starting to lay....what do you need, maybe I can do it

I get that a lot, it's a common problem on CL unfortunately. It's worst when you have the birds crated and ready to go and no one shows up.

"No shows" are a problem in the "freecycle" and "Freebie" groups I belong to, too. It's VERY irritating. People have taken to posting "first come/first served, will not hold for ANYONE". And I don't blame them. (I put my freecycle stuff out by my road with a "Free" sign on it. Have yet to have anything last more than 48 hours out there)

I hope I never have to sell or give away any of my roosters/chickens via CL or freecycle, cuz it's very upsetting to think they are GONE and then have to feed them for weeks and weeks.

Oh, wait, I did that to get rid of 3 of the 4 silkie roos I had. I wound up DELIVERING 2 of them, just to have them off my feed bill. (And the boys I gave them to LOVED them and had names already picked out and a fenced in area JUST FOR THEIR ROOS and were soooooo proud of their building skills in making it. I smiled the whole way home) One of my roos I traded for 2 roos that needed to be culled. (read "Sunday Dinner" for the word "culled") She brought them to me and took my biggest silkie roo for her "breeding stock" (not her stock pot ...phew)

I really need to actually EAT one of my freezer camp attendees and see if I LIKE homemade chicken. IF I do, then maybe I'll take some of the extra spring roos that will be all over CL this spring. And *I* will show up to pick them up.

D'uccle abandoned nest. Another hen (or maybe her) cracked some of the eggs. I split one open. THEY WERE DEVELOPING.

Oh well. I really didn't need any more chicks. But if she was gonna quit, why didn't she do it SOONER? Like before I got her hatching eggs?
