Day 7 5/6 show development the 6th one I couldn't see anything, not sure if dark or thick shell played a part. Momma is just sitting waiting....

Yay! Two of my babies hatched! One at 5:15 yesterday morning and one at 9:30 last night!

I *think* I have a dozen, with 4 more eggs unhatched. I'm not going to mess with them just yet, though I will have to prepare the brooder since Mocha appears to have given up just when she was wanted.

One of the unhatched eggs has pipped and another in in the process of zipping.

Oops! Somebody decided to go for a stroll, mamma was calling but baby couldn't make the leap back in... I helped of course. The black is one of her or Betty's babies.

A little update on all my different hatching endeavors! One of my broody hens who is sitting on 3 eggs is due to hatch in a week and then the 28 in the incubator have 2 weeks until hatch day! I have another broody hen who wanted to sit on eggs starting this Thursday so I have over 30 eggs incubating!

Mocha has definitely abandoned the nest.

2 more days, silly bird! I'd have given her babies tonight.

Instead I'm preparing the brooder.

I don't know yet.

I haven't taken any out because I don't want to shrinkwrap the pipped ones and I'm not done putting the brooder together anyway.
