No way could it have gone that far away on its own!! I think it was dead but I put it under one of the broodies anyway! Any hope!!???

if not then I guess she will put chickie aside. I'll let the broodies out in the morning, it's only 2 hrs before I lock them all up anyway.

They are first time mother's and one particularly had been constantly getting off the nest so I put the chick under the other mumma.

she hasn't put the chick away from her and I do hear cheeping so maybe there is hope! Could be the other egg hatched. I'll find out later today if there's a head poking out from her feathers! It's a bit cold today so she may stay on the nest.
