So my second hatch of blueblack splash cochin was a failure the temp gauge and the hydrometer where wrong. Lockdown ended up being a shrink wrap with too low humidity. My first hatch was a male and female black Araucana. My third hatch went into lockdown today. Here to a success of eleven eggs. Fingers crossed.

I was just checking on Aretha’s timeline. It’s so annoying that ducks take so long! While you guys have babies in 19-21 ish days, I have to wait 32-35! Well, Pekin take 28.
I don’t want to wait that long! Especially since she is sitting for the third time, had only one baby, and it didn’t live long.

I was supposed to go on lockdown yesterday but I’m going to wait till late today because the air cells look way too small. Probably due to the low temperature I had for a day they are a little behind. The two Marans are impossible to see if there’s something in them but the air cells are growing like the areucanas. I think that’s a good sign. The four bantams three looks good and one I’m keeping an eye on it. I hope I get something by Friday

I bought a dozen silkie hatching eggs that were shipped to me, and am currently on Day 16 incubation. Of the 12 original eggs, 8 are going strong and developing beautifully. I've never hatched silkie eggs before, so I'm curious if they will hatch a day or so earlier like other small fowl varieties.

That was my biggest frustration because I did the Hatching incubator for 24 hours prior lock down.
