I have JG mixes and one of my pullets had me convinced she was a slow feathering cockerel. She used to hang out with the boys and play fight right up until she laid her first egg!
I find JG to be the oddest breed I've ever owned besides my bantam polish. I still don't know if my bantam polish are Cockerels or pullets. They're 4 months and I've yet to hear them make a noise.

This is from mid summer, the JG is the splash (white) one at the top, the ones below feeding on ground feed are all half Red Rangers. They are younger and heavier than the Jersey Giant because they rapidly grew. I think one of the black ones is 1/4 Red Ranger. Its not the best picture because I rarely focus on the Jersey Giant. When its sexually mature I will take interest because I will start breeding her (or him).

Correct. Although I am only 90% sure due to this being the first time I did this specific cross of hybrids etc etc.. but I am confident enough to go to 90%

Just wanted to make sure I remembered correctly. I'm still a way off from hatch day yet but we are working on those cages to separate everyone by your labels when we go into lockdown.

Thos MNN eggs are great to candle!

I had a chick climb on the cages and start pecking the wiring for the fan and heating unit. Nothing bad happened but the chick had me really nervous.

So the cages are to separate breeds while they hatch?

I think next hatch I do, I'll only do one breed because I have a feeling all my chicks will be black

I read that! Crazy thing :gig

My DIL is possibly going to take a couple of my pullets or any fully feathered chicks that hatch from my these eggs I've got. I think she might prefer the pullets because they're laying now and she wants to borrow my incubator. Her rooster is a black Australorp I got from @BlueBaby a year or two ago and she wants to hatch eggs.

Hi! My first post here. I have 22 Ameraucana/Easter Eggers set to hatch on 10/21/2019. This is my second group of hatching ever. I have had chickens for 8 years. Until grandchildren took an interest, I purchased new chicks from local breeders. In the Spring I will have Cream Legbar, Death Layers, Lavendar Ameraucana, and Salmon Favorelles eggs. This is fun!
Can't wait to see what hatches! Super excited about the death layers :pop
