That is fascinating!!!! Do you ever feed them anything or just let them forage? Do you grow crops for them? What breed are they? What kind of laying rate do you get with them being all forage? Are they primarily for meat or for eggs?
I don't feed them except for the winter. They are American game cross bantam. Also they sleep in the trees sometimes ,I will eat them. They lay just like a regular wild bird.

I'm soo disappointed my about rare red jungle fowl eggs I candle d them and only one looks viable. The mother hen is beginning to stay off the nest more:he she has not been on them almost all day I think.
I don't know what to do:hit this really stinks. I was so excited for this hatch I originally bought the eggs to introduce new blood into my wild flock .

Well, when in doubt, do what you can. If your having doubts about that hen, then move those eggs to the bator! I am so sorry to hear your junglefowl eggs arent deving well, its a huge risk with shipped eggs.

I have the most amazing video I wish I could post it. One of the twins was moving in the egg when I candled it. I stared at it in awe then remembered I needed to get it back in the incubator!
If you upload it to youtube, you can then share it here! Been years since I uploaded anything to youtube though so that's as helpful as I can be
