MUST....NOT....CANDLE...TILL SUNDAY!!!!!! :barnie Tearing hair out over here. Going to go out and work in the garden this afternoon and tomorrow instead to keep self distracted and away from the bator.

On the plus side, successfully negotiated with my DH to keep the chicks inside for the first week to improve bonding with us (he hates the mess they cause, but we agreed the teen would keep them in her bedroom away from his space), and to keep one or two of the large fowl for pretty colored eggs (by agreeing to keep them in the chicken pen and out of the main yard so they won't tear up the landscaping). Proud of myself for finding a win-win for everyone that still allows me to feed my chicken addiction.:wee

My dh brought me a surprise this morning. Baby Silies chicks and 2 white guinea and 1 lavender guinea keets!

So many adorable babies, I love seeing what others are hatching! :love

I've got 5 silkie eggs that are due to hatch on the 14th, all 5 I set are growing like champs and just went into lockdown earlier today. I am so happy to be hatching eggs from my own chickens (the last few years I've only hatched shipped eggs which was exciting but definitely a challenge).
