Thanks pink chick!

emvickrey: Whaaaat....how many dates? OMG U R the Queen of Staggard Hatches!!! I'd go nuts hatching that many that close together. I would totally get them mixed up LOL!

I put those little tab post it's with the tray number and lock down date. There is no way I could do this without it. I tried just writing down on paper, then tried post it's on the bator but the tabs work much better because they stick to the windows and don't fall off or obscure being able to see in. Works great. The tab post it's I use are plastic not paper and they stick better. I use a sharpie to write on them. Just a little tip for those others that do staggared hatches.

Thats my first one. Way early compared to the rest who are just pipping now. It is a mix. Golden comet roo over either golden comet hen or amberlink hen but I am pretty certain its golden comet over golden comet. Poor thing pipped, zipped and then couldn't break the membrane.

Congrats. How is the fertility on those I sent you. I could use some input on how the RIR/BO are doing. With new layers and young roo only time will tell. Have you candled yet?

Nope not candled yet. My hatcher wasn't working right so staggered hatch in one bator. Was due to candle last night but waiting until these ones hatch out before I do it so I don't dry anyone out. So should be able to do it by monday night if all goes well. As soon as I get them candled I will send you pm to let you know. I did check the blue eggs at day 3 and it looked like they were developing but hard to tell that early.

First time hatching eggs this month! Very, VERRRRY excited! I'm in Oklahoma but was out in DC for a couple of weeks & happened to get some eggs in Maryland from Patty Nuth of Running Horse Farm (soooo nice & generous) and drove them back with me. Hopefully that means there will be more of a chance.

I just set 26 in my Brinsea Octagon Eco incubator. 7 spitzenhaubens, 14 mille fleur d'uccles, 1 bantam salmon faverolle, 1 blue polish, 1 buff orpington, and 2 mottled houdans. There are 21 more eggs, mostly dominiques and d'uccles that I will set once my hovabator arrives. (I ordered 10 d'uccles and 7 spitzenhuaben/houdans from her so quickly realized I would need another bator if I wanted to hatch them all!)

So, the other 21 will be set when the hovabator comes and then I just bought some bc marans off ebay and they should be coming this week. So, I should have 3 hatches this month.

So far, my only fixed hatch date is October 23. I candled the eggs when I arrived home last night but am not sure how they look if they get "scrambled". Does that mean the yolk isn't defined or that it is mostly defined but has a leaky "tail" sticking out from the main orb?

Fingers crossed!!!

You where lucky to get blue eggs. Most of the people got green. I think there was one that got a blue one. I got 3 green eggs today after not getting any for 3 days. I plan to hatch out more so maybe I can get more eggs out of them. My white hen that started to lay this spring laid only blue eggs but she stopped and hasn't laid any since.

I too, have more eggs coming this week. So I got another incubator. What I need is a temperature gage with humidity. I can't remember where I got the first one. Anyone have suggestions on good ones?
