OEGB - broodiness, personality, egg-laying, maturity?

Ohh maaaan, only one week left until the baby peepers!
I can't believe how fast time goes, haha.
It's been mid-90 degree temperatures every day here in Florida lately, so I have a decent fan pointing into the window of the small coop she is in.
I hope it's good enough for her and her babies, because it is seriously HOT outside!
I also worry about about the upcoming months of July, and August- those are our rainiest, most wet and humid months of the year, and I don't want the babies getting sick from anything; ugh, I worry too much, lol.

Yay! I can’t wait to see the little peeps! So glad she’s been being a good mom! My poor hen messed up somewhere in the second week, and all the developing eggs stopped growing and got rotten. I just popped 4 more under her to see if it was her fault or just an oddball. I may just end up putting incubator babies under her.
What specific day are they suppose to hat chi? Monday or Tuesday? We’ll probably have hatch day twins! I have 30 suppose to hatch from the incubator on Monday.

I'm pretty sure it's 6.30.20, Tuesday that they'll hatch!
I think one egg might hatch a day later than the first four, thanks to interfering hens before we moved her to her own small coop, lol

I've never actually used an incubator, I'd be way too anxious and paranoid to leave the eggs alone, lol

WHOOPS!

We miscalculated, miscounted, made a mistake;
THEY STARTED HATCHING TODAY!
Gracie has three little chicks under/around her right now!
Two of them are mostly dry, one is still weak and wet looking;
Ahhhhh we have chicks!!! Three out of five eggs, so far
Pics coming in a bit, today when I get a chance!

OHH SO CUTE! And I just love the bigger chickens! The babies are too precious! I love your description of being “flopped over dead”, haha it made me chuckle. I do suggest trying to stick him under momma Gracie though!

I love the little black chick's face, it's a splash of color on an otherwise entirely black body
Some of the chicks have furry feet, because they came from bantam frizzle cochin x japanese bantam; only one egg was actually Gracie the OEGB's, and the chick from it is super tiny and jet black X)
The flopped over one found it's way back under Gracie not long after that photo, so there were no problems I've had a great day just watching the chicks pop their heads out from under random spots on Gracie, lol!

Nice, hatch twinsies! You gotta show me a pic of that

Update;

There is a fourth baby fluffer!
Only one more egg left, we'll see if it hatches. but for now
Gracie has four black/dark colored fluffers! Wooo!

Congrats! I just cracked open the 10 other eggs in the incubator (Nothing was pipped) and only one other was fully absorbed, but not alive). We have two fluffy moderns! I need to clean all my chicken pens, then I’ll take some pictures of them!
