I've switched to TSC during the pandemic because I can order it online and get curbside pickup. I'm an old lady and I found I like this curbside pickup a lot, so I may be staying with TSC. They cost a dollar more for 50# of Purina Flock Raiser than the local feed and seed, but it's too 'peopley' in there and no one wearing masks.
I have always been concerned about getting the freshest mill date, but the previous 2 times, feed was less than 1 month old.

you could always call the local store, place your order/pay over the phone, and then call when you arrive to ask them to load it up for you. That’s what everyone I know has done. Now more than ever, a penny saved is a penny earned.

Hwoever there are a lot of places that flat just don't DO that.
Really? That’s sad. I’ve never seen a feed store that wouldn’t load you up and can’t imagine why anyone would refuse payment over the phone and my wife and I have used 3 in our area, depending on which one we’re passing by on whatever day we’re doing the shopping. The price for MG layer crumble is pretty steady across the board at $11 and I’m guessing they all get it from the same supplier or maybe they get it all direct from M-G, I don’t know. I just know for the same size bag of Dumore at TSC I have to pay $15 and that’s the cheapest layer feed they’ve got. That’s around a 22% price difference.
I’d call around to local stores, ask if they’ll take payment over the phone and if they’ll load you up, and then compare prices. I’m sure you can find a local store that can beat any price at TSC and will still be willing to work with you on social distancing/keeping you safe and comfortable while doing business with them.

I'm not the one that posted about wanting curbside. I was just commenting on your post to her/him. Myself, I live in a rural area, there are a LOT of businesses that don't take payment over the phone.

I buy my feed online. I get an organic, soy free, corn free feed from "Scratch & Peck" (company name) that is raw and whole grains/peas. It is a complete feed (has all the good stuff added in) and I ferment it. My girls love it and it doesn't have things in it that I am allergic to. All the feed that I find at my TSC has soy as the base protein... even the organic feeds. I'm allergic to soy, so I choose not to buy things with it in there.
