I have a TSC and a family owned local feed store in my town. I prefer to buy my cat food & all poultry related items from the town feed store. Its important to me to support a business that has been around for 20+ years, the employees are knowledgeable and I am familiar with them! I want to invest in people to live in my community. On occasion I do go to TSC for specific items that the feed store might not have at the time.

I do sometimes look for deals on heat lamps at TSC. My feed store only has 1 kind and are normally sold out  I go through them like candy :th

I got a moldy bag of feed from TSC and have been buying from a local farm supply store ever since. I like that the employees are all farmers and chicken owners, so we can discuss any concerns I might have and they always have good advice. I also like the fact that I am supporting a family owned local business vs a big chain store. And they have cats roaming around the store, sleeping on the counter... so that's a bonus, too:)

I recently started getting my dog and chicken feed ( kalmbach) from chewy. I was sick of running from TSC to feed Stores looking for fresh feed. I’d spend days driving around looking for feed, seems like everyone was cleaning out their warehouses and selling bags 6 or more months old. It’s a little more expensive but I get it 2 days after I order it on my door step. so far both orders the bags were less than 6 weeks from manufactured date and I’m saving on gas any store is at least 30 minutes from me.
I really like the kalmbach feed there was literally no dust in the bags. I dump my bags in a metal trash can and when I got to the end I noticed absolutely not dust in there or left over in the feeders when i fill them in the morning.

Hmm; I had never thought about Chewy.

I do buy cat food from Walmart. Only because the only kind they can eat without throwing up, is Special Kitty. Something about the red dye in other foods.

yea, cat and dog food that doesn't get your pet sick is tricky. My new puppy didn't much care for her puppy chow and turned her nose up at most all of the samples i was getting for her to try as she is now a year old.
Of all the safe "grain free", dye free, not made in china, will not cause bloody stool or shut liver down from mold dog foods, i found one.
It kills me to say it as Walmart has made them their brand. Pure Balance is not only made in the U.S. , its made right without grain, dyes, additives...
My puppy wouldn't touch any dry food i tried. I had the dog with me when i visited my daughter. Her old dog has cancer and is on meds. My dog hit the food bowl like a pig.
Special food for old sick dogs? Oh great, what that going to cost me a month for my 70lb lap dog.
Nope, her vet told her to use it because it was free of crud.
Good, healthy, cost effective dry food she likes. Lamb and brown rice.
Now my local feed and seed is cheaper than tsc on the same flock raiser and a better brand of scratch. Not only that but my bags from tsc were two months old vs two or three weeks old from feed and seed for the same brand.
tsc has pine shave flake and other stuff that i like so its shop till i drop. I would have liked to get it all at one place but can't so...

Yep, it’s crazy. Sometimes I’d like to think they meant no harm by adding all the extra stuff that beats down on animals... but I don’t think that’s the case.
