There was a show a few years back on the Discovery Channel that depicted a family in Georgia whose young daughter was sensitive to spirits. Did any of you see that? I wondered if the family's religion made them view her experiences more negatively.

I know that some cultures believe that places can have their own spirits that aren't ghosts. I don't know what the spirits are supposed to be. Perhaps guardians of some sort?

Have any of you experienced anything like that?

It makes sense to me that places could have residue energy left from emotional events. I find it interesting that coyotemagic can tell the difference between a spirit and just energy.

I agree completely , my step mom who I love dearly passed away 5yrs ago from complications from diabetes.A few days before I was diagnosed with diabetes I was in those few moments between sleeping and waking when I felt her presence by my bed and I could feel her hand in mine and had such a feeling of comfort and love.
I know she is with me

Yes, places that seem to have a guardian residing there. I have a place in the forest like that. (Always being watched sense, if I go through the valley below I am trespassing on the land we "own".... (I respect the place and stay out of it. I was logging near this valley had a tree fall in so I had to go down and brush up the top and forward the logs. Hard hat and ear muffs on with the chain saw running, this spirit let me know I was not welcome! A bitterly cold pressing down on me sense. Something very different than the normal energy of places, quite intense.

I also have identified a place in the woods that an energy that is "more organized" definitely not a spirit or ghost, but not just normal energy or residual energy. Some kind of gateway? That is what it feel like to me. My spouse who is not overly sensitive inadvertently walked through, and went "whoa..what was that"? Hard to describe, feels like walking into a springy net then popping through the other side..

For me, energy is every where and in everything. (Just most of the time I am not centered enough to sense it.) Spirits or ghosts tend to hit me like a brick wall, not subtle not like the "silky fabric" of the energy. (For me energy is sort of like super soft sheer curtains gently blowing in a breeze as you are walking through them. The colors are different, the way they brush against your skin is constantly changing.) My mind translates those sensations into feelings.

Ghosts or spirits are totally different, organized, deliberate an entity that will carry it's own energy.

I guess I feel it is all really just energy, spirits and other things, are just more organized masses of energy.

purr, that is an awsome feeling. I have had the same sense with my dad and other loved ones.

I thought I would share this with y'all because you like dream stories. I usually don't remember my dreams, but for the past few days I will be going about my normal stuff, then think, Oh I dreamed about this. Like today, someone at work brought up one of the local casinos and I remembered that I dreamed about a casino. Then later tonight on my way home a woman was in the gas station looking for directions to one of the casinos. It's little stuff like that, not my routines, but other stuff that pops up, and I then remember dreaming about it. I thought it was interesting.

On a side note, I know there were discussions several pages back about animal guides. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for meditations or something along those lines to help discover mine.

A few days after my dad passed I had a dream and he told me he was o.k. That has given me comfort. This was almost a year ago and I have not had a dream about of him since. I think he was sending me message. That's the way I feel about it anyway.

I would like to know more how people discover their animal guides also. Is it simply the animal you like the best? Dogs and crows for me, then. LOL Or does the animal guide pick you?

If there is a place of peace where we go after death then I would want my loved ones to know that I was o.k. It makes sense to me that our loved ones still care for us and don't want us to grieve too deeply.

You want to know something that I appreciate about paganism? That there is no real attempts to evangelize others.

I have seen some underhanded evangelism attempts that have bothered me.

This is feel is the number one difference in PAganism compared to many other beleifs, we DO NOT convert... The very first thing about paganism that appealed to me was the fact that we are not to approach others about our beliefs but let them ask us.. Its the same with doing magic for someone, you have to ask there permission or else it is considered munipulating there free will.. An It Harm None But do What Ye Will....

I love lil synchronicioties like this.. I have made a point the last few months to acknowledge each time life throws a lil synchronicity my way... I feel that sometimes these are our unconsious mind tapping us on the shoulder to say " Hey, Pay attention or your'll miss it."
