I thank you for your post and the energy you and others put forth. Last night I had an interesting dream I was in my home town getting on a school bus with the class mates I had. One girl mentioned they had purchased a house that I knew of. (This house is a frequent place of "odd" out of sort kind of dreams, and also a place where "hiding the body" in the basement bad dreams have occured.) She continued to to tell me they completely renovated it and like it very much.!!!!

I feel strongly that a 30 year long recurring bad dream series is ended.! Now it is Patty's house!

Hi all!
I Just wanted to ask you what you think would be good to do for a housewarming celebration/ritual. My roomies and I just bought our first house (YAY!!!!) and spent all weekend (including my birthday) painting. We set our housewarming party date for the equinox- what better time to celebrate our new life than that? We are even gonna barbeque up some of last years surplus roosters to share with our guests, it will be great!
But I am wondering what sort of home blessing things ya'll have done/would do when you buy a house. We have 1.2 acres with lots of trees but not much privacy from neighbors yet. We only really have one thing planned, but that takes a little backstory to explain. I will try to make it brief: A few years back we lived across the street from a historic cemetary which was flooded with light from the safeway every night-sad! Anyway, there were some spirits there which were disturbed and kept trying to reach us.... they wanted help clearing something out of their land so they could rest. They asked us to bring certain stones in, helped us plan our banishing, and guided us. The very end had us bury something in the center and we were told to take the displaced dirt, put it in a pouch, and bury it under the front steps of our house and they would help protect our home since we heleped protect theirs. So we need to place that, but then what? We really want to make the place ours. It was so generic and dull when we moved in, and the place had been empty at least 5 months so it really was a blank slate, for the most part. We have visually transformed the interior (ugly vinyl wallpaper to happy, vivid paint colors that make it feel like our home instead of just another rental) But we don't have any plans about what to do on a spititual level.
Also, one of my room mates has a... curse?...maybe not but he has never had a stable home-ever. He has moved, on average, once a year his whole life. We sort of joke and tease him, but we really do want to break this habit! If it is something tied to him, not just coincidence, we want to get rid of it. I spent the first 18 years of my life in one house, and the last nine missing that stability. Dani'el is almost the same way. But Don has never had a home till now and none of us want to risk loosing it.
Any suggestions or tips?

I had someone in my highschool (at least a year before I had even considered a spiritual path that would qualify me as a witch) say to her friend as I walked by "SHHHH! Don't say that so loud, she'll hear you! She's a WITCH and she will CURSE you!"
Really? I thought. News to ME that I am a witch. I can curse people? Who knew! Really, what century are we in? This was 2001! Well, I suppose I am a witch NOW... but I still don't know anything about cursing folks.​

It has been the museum the past few nights. To tired from yard work to even think. DH did mention something this morning that kinda clicked. He was saying that I grew up in a museum. The "no touch" house. I use to have dreams about not being able to leave my childhood home. I gradually managed to get "home" (here) not to long ago. I wonder if the museum is the same challenge just different plot.

For house cleansing I use sea salt, water,sage & three kings incense, a black candle and a white candle.. I like to do each one seperatly and make a ritual out of it..
I anoint the candles with a cleanising oil and place them in a central part of the home or on my altar.this is for Spirit.. Black pulls in the negativity while the white purifies it...
I then start at the entrance and going clockwise burn the incense and sage, paying close attention to windows dorrways and under furntiure.. If the smoke blows back at you or is being pushed from an area then take more time with area and blow the smoke into it until it stops pushing back...
I then use the charged water and sprinkle this around the home also going clockwise...Paying extra attention to doorway and window sills, I also like to anoint doors and windows with holy symbols either with the water or oil....
I then use the sea salt and seal all work I have done by going clockwise thru house sprinkling sea salt in all doorways under windows and in corners sealing each room as you go thru with a line of salt..
At this point you can do any other house warming ritual you would like.. I like to welcome Fay Folk to my home or create a protection dragon at this time as you have raised quite a bit of energy at this point... You may as well out it to good use...

As far as your friend being cursed.. I personally dont beleive in curses I do believe in Psychic Attacks... One thing you can have him do is a Mirror Spell.. Basically you get either a Reversal Candle. ( Black on Bottom, REd On Top) or just use 1 black candle and 1 red Candle.. surround the candles with mirrors and have him meditate for a few minutes each day, visualizing any negativity comin towards him bouncing off the mirrors and passing thru the candles.... anytime he feels like he is being attacked or just feels crummy, have him visualize that he is surround by mirrors facing out from him and bouncing everything back to the sender...

This is almost exactly what I have done - I also make sure there are plants over my main entrance - which plant depends on the season or my need at the time. I also made sure to bake fresh bread to break with my friends sealing that this was home. I have heart stones that I placed in a place of honor and smoky quartz buried point out in the yard on the side of a negative neighbor - hopefully you won't need that!​

I've been lurking on this thread from the beginning but finally decided to chime in. I've enjoyed the different stories of your experiences, book recommendations, etc. I'm not officially pagan (nor do I live in a good geographic area to admit such a thing!), but I'm considering taking some steps in that direction.

Also just wanted to note how much I appreciate that this thread has been kept civil and watched over by the mods.
