I'l check it out ion just a sec.. Ill have to use the guest computer.,.

Key of Awesome's parodies are very good.

I like their latest Justin Beiber one best. Then again, my humor is very weird so you might want to ignore anything that I suggest.

Oh man that was funny! I actually like Lady Gaga, despite what my 16 year old self would do to me if she knew. I have seen the original video, and this was pretty good. "Put the lotion in the basket" LOL

Here's a question for y'all. I just got the Llewellyn catalog and was flipping through it. I see a couple of authors who's books are all across the board. Moon Magic, Celtic, Angles, Fairys, Norse all by the same author. Is it wrong of me to want my authors to stick to their specialty? Not to mention all the goofy 100 Spells for Love type books. Am I the only person who this irritates? Where do you like to get your info/books from, cause sometimes I have my doubts about the quality of some of Llewellyn's books.

the celtic stuff I CAN have an opinion on, because that's what I studied in university.
I always check out the qualifications of anyone aiming to tell me about celtic religion - purely because so much of the stuff written in so many of the books on the subject is complete fabrication from the victorian era.
Take the Horned God, for example. There is no proof that Cernunnos was the name for him anywhere but regionally. Yes, the "Cern" part of his name does signify horns, but the actual name might be extremely localised, just like Connal Cernach in Irish myths - another male with the horns signified in his name. There are actually very few sources of information on celtic gods etc. - a few names can be traced etymologically from legends (such as Rhighantona became Rhiannon in Welsh myth - the name implies a divine queen) so we can pick up a bit of info there... And as for druids, well I guess anyone can call themselves anything but I very much doubt any of the modern people who call themselves that actually share very much at all in common with the ancient druids. It was an oral society, so they left us no written records to follow. The things written by the Romans about them is more propaganda than anything else, there was no suing for libel in those days! So you can't even believe that, a lot of it was probably pure fiction.

I am actually extremely sceptical of all books on ancient religions because of that kind of thing. Pick your sources carefully when it comes to what you believe.

Sounds like you did good.. Book suggestions are a great idea! If the person is in ernest interested in the subject, they can read about it.
I feel as if cashier dude's questions were from his heart, he needed to be quite sensitive to pick it up from you to begin with!

Hey, at least he did not ask if you needed help loading groceries onto your broom,,,,,.............

If time allowed I would maybe given him a few keywords to google.. Such as Pagan.

However I am quite positive modern Druids do exist.

How much they have in common with ancient Druids I do not know...as I am skeptical of what is written down....
hmm.png

I suspect they have much in common. As their abilities can be quite impressive.. Especially in the areas of healing and gardening....

Here is a little bit of a message from a modern Druid who is currently working on aligning energies at our place from half way around the world...
"I have been prompted in druid´s mode to do a resonant placement with my “aetherexchange resonant body #7” of the “quadrant
stone” - residingin it´s physical definition I guess still in your living room – to the twintree heart notch spot at the open root space of the fallen one."

As stated before I also feel Findhorn is of Druid methods.

As are divining rods for finding water of Druid decent.
Druidism is alive and well.....They are quietly rearranging the energy flows of their rocks and growing spectacular gardens around the world..

When DH and I were getting ready to build our house deciding where to place the well was obviously a 20,000 dollar question. SO we were talking to a nice elderly neighbor when he pops up with , "Oh Let's get a willow divining rod and go a' water witchin'"

Could have knocked me over with a feather!! We both did and it were quite successful I must say. DH could not get so much as a wiggle!! The neighbor still is insistant that he is christian, but we have had other talks and I would beg to differ!!

Anyway, this Korea thing continues to rankle. It's like getting an itch you cannot scratch!! A burr under my saddle. Clearly there is a message here, but I am not able to focus enough time or energy to get it clear right now. Anyone else get anything? It is Korea and a helicopter a jeep and WHOLE LOT of mud.

a lot of our (welsh) folk traditions etc no doubt stem from beliefs from that time, but I cannot use the word "druid" in a modern context because to me it implies the ones that were here back then, Modern Druids to me are just celtic-based pagans due to that. I'm afraid my knowledge precludes the inaccurate use of the word druid, unless it's modified with the precursor "Modern"

The people who really kept the traditions alive did so within their (perhaps nominal, perhaps sincere) christianity.

talking of which - Calan Mai hapus! (Happy Beltaine)

I look at it like i would a magazine rack, you can find newsweek and time next to people and tiger beat. In other words disernment is the key. I skip anything that's a "spells for love/money/fame" book. I don't necessarily see it as a bad thing if an author covers more than 1 subject, but I do expect them to be through with thier research. (Perferably someone with work in antrhroplogy or sociology).

A good book can come from an unknown author, and a bomb can come from a guy spread too thin.

Merry Beltaine. Today I'm mired in the daily work of making money. The hip can't take the cold in the mountains, so we'll be staying home again. Blessed be.
