Congratulations on another breeding season with your greens!
I am always sad to see the peacocks lose their train after breeding season, but it is fun watching it grow back in.

Pictures from my daily free walk with our peafowl chicks from 2015.

Three day old chicks

Another group between 7 an 10 days old

Another group between 3 weeks and 2 months

It looks like you had a very good year!

They sure are having fun I like watching peachicks explore outside.

The year was normal, as I mentioned I bred only 50% of the eggs otherwise I would have too many. At the moment it looks that I have much better split between males and females compared to last year. But I don’t have all results yet.

Every day I make a free walk with my green peafowl chicks around. In the video which I made end of May you will see some impressions about it.

In addition to the pictures I made a video to show how much fun it is to walk around with the green peafowl chicks.

If a DNA test proves that green peafowl from southern Yunnan and green peacock from northern Thailand country are the same ... you sign a good contract with the government of Yunnan!
Because you have a head start with the studbook!... We can dream!

Quote:
If they would need in a country of origin green peafowls from me for a useful protection or reintroduction project they will get for sure my offspring for free.

... for free !

Interesting topic!
Between Western in theory it's possible! ... In theory!
But in reality what has no cost is worthless!
How the Chinese see the animal? ... What are the animal rights in China?

At least " right of view " on the projet .... see what happened in Malaysia ... today, no informations !

Dany,
I know all this things, this is the reason why I mentioned useful. It depends really on the project. I know the mentality of these people very well and believe me I will not spend birds when I have the feeling that they will be burned.
From Malaysia I have some more information, because I had a meeting last year in Kuala Lumpur with the Wild Live Department.
During this visit I have trained the staff off my friend how to breed and raise green peafowl and this year they were now able to breed and raise some green peafowl. The situation looks now a little bit more promising.
At the moment it is too early but maybe in some month I can post some news.
